A Marne Taxi! (1 Viewer)

This was done by a superb dioramist name Bob Tavis.I had seen this on Planet Figure Forum.He also had done one called "Brave Little Belgium".If I can find it I will put it up.I believe the scale is 1/32.

Tom,These are one offs,Meaning that they are one of a kind.these were sculpted and I believe painted by Mr.Tavis.If you belong to Planet Figure forum you can put in Marne Taxi or Brave Little Belgium in search and they thread will come up for these which shows Step by Step progress on these dios.Now hopefully here are some pictures of "Brave Little Belgium".

Beautiful...what else could one say? But that Marne Taxi is right along the road I was thinking (dreaming) along. Bare taxi with driver and then optional add-ons to enable each taxi to be 'individualised'. And the civilians go along the agreeable thread of what Lancer suggested - and that setting {sm2}...dare one be crass and ask what such a one-off is worth?{sm5}

I really don't know but I think It would be considerable.I checked into have figures sculpted once and it was in the $500 range per figure and some were asking more,and that's just getting figures sculpted!{eek3}I would think $2000-$4000 range total.

Thanks for the info and additional dio pic's Mark, they are superb. The pricing on the "one offs" is certainly out of my league but if i did have deep pockets i would definitely look at getting some figures (and vehicles) made by Mr Tavis although it would be in WWII....:rolleyes2::wink2:^&grin

Great dios Marco, thanks for posting them.

I would think for a unique diorama like that with a vehicle and multiple figures there would not be much change out of $10,000. Awesome works of art.

Regards
Brett

You are probably closer to the price than me Brett.A lot of time and work creating those dios.

The credit should go to Mr.Tavis.The taxi dio was done 8-9 years ago and the other one some time ago so I don't know if he even does this stuff anymore.Truly a very talented man.

The Taxis of the Marne are a must. And I'm all in on more French soldiers for any such display, whether forming up or marching. I would also like to see French civilians that can be used as crowds sending their soldiers off to do battle. I am trying to put together just such a dio and the taxis and crowds are sorely needed. Once again, I also plead for French artillery and cavalry of the 1914 era. -- Al
I really am impressed with the 1914 French Infantry that KC makes. The figures are very well sculpted and the uniforms accurate and correctly painted. I am looking forward to any other 1914 French that KC sees fit to make and, as mentioned above, would definetly purchase French cavalry and artillery. Please note that the French 1914 artillery uniform did not have the red pants and kepi of the infantry, rather the whole uniform was dark blue, with red trim. I have no doubt that a French 75mm gun or French cavalry in 1914 colors, by KC, would be beautiful figures. -- Al

Along with a WW1 Rolls Royce armoured car, a Marne Taxi would be a 'must have' for me. That Belgian dio is superb btw

This is not an oversight that K&C should long countenance oberstoskar - 1/35 is bad enough ... but a FORD! In a uniquely French story! Oh the shame of it {sm2} - a Marne Taxi must appear soon ^&cool{sm3}

I totally agree, a K&C true to scale version must appear soon!

I saw this pn the London Show pictures and thought of your Marne Taxi. A small one but a nice start and a beautiful proto-type.

I am not familiar...what is a JDD.

Thanks
In case you are not kidding, JJD is John Jenkins Designs , a manufacturer that is very prominent on this forum and who makes outstanding products, including a WW1 aviation line of excellent aircraft. -- Al
