Guy's,

Can ANYONE help me out here?
I'm looking for prints or any kind of photos showing the Colours that were carried by the 93rd Highlanders at Balaclava during the Crimean War.
Just at a guess, they must have had a Regimental Colour - not sure about a King's Colour (Well, I suppose it would've been a Queen's Colour by that time, seeing as Victoria was on the throne).

I'd be extremely gratful if someone can even point me in the right direction.
I've tried a few internet searches - but my connection keeps dropping out and its driving me nuts.

Thanks
Harry

Many thanks to everyone who's responded to my question. Extremely helpful.
I've fired off the same question to the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders Museum - so hopefully I'll get a reply from them over the next few days.

Cheers
H

Harry, the attached images are from the series of standards produced by David Hunter and are drawn from the actual flags.

Hey Guy's I received an email from the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders Museum at Stirling Castle already - and have just had enough time to download, resize the photo's and upload them again.

Here's the email and the uploaded photos.

Thanks Again To All
Harry

Harry,

Unfortunately there are no illustrations of the Crimea colours but we do actually have what is left of them on display in the museum.

I have photographed them and attached 3 images with this e-mail and I will send a follow on e-mail with the last two. Hopefully these will help.

Good luck with the diorama

Hi,
I'm presently building a 1/30 scale diorama of The Thin Red Line at Balaclava.
I'm trying to find pictures/prints/photos of the Regimental and Kings Colours as carried at Balaclava.
Could you please help me in this regard.
PS. I'm an ex-member of D-Coy, Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders TA.
Based in Dumbarton, 1971 - 1974.

Best Regards
Harry

You're welcome Michel.
I thought the responses I got were extremely helpful, so when I received the reply fro Stirling Castle I reckoned I might as well put up the photos of the colours as they are now.
PS. I got my dates wrong. I was in D-Coy A&S Highlanders 1974 to 1977.

Cheers
Harry
