ROMAN TUBICAN PLAYER

Resplendent in his Bearskin and with his personal arms, the Tubicen player is equally at home signaling the attack or even a retreat on the battlefield. He was also utilised for announcing the arrival of VIPs and/or a new troop detachment. Away from the battlefield, the Tubicen player could also be found at celebration parades held in Rome and other major cities across the empire.

Thirty-six or thirty-eight Tubicen (Musicians) were assigned to each Roman legion. The Tubicen would be blown twice each spring in military, governmental, or religious functions, known as the Tubilustrium. It was also used in ancient Roman triumphs and was considered a symbol of war and battle.

This all-new version of a Legionnaire with Tubicen will come in a box of 2 figures and will be available in late August or September 2024.

Looks nice, looking forward to seeing the paint version. From this progress shot to release shortly as suggested, means TG will need to get it’s skates on.🏃 Robin.

Thanks for the kind comments, the photographs were taken a while ago, as this figure has been in planning and development for close to 12 months. The painting has been almost completed and will the figures will be ready as planned.

The details especially the chainmail armor is exquisite.

Would presumably go well with the previous release of a fes years ago ?

Looking at the sculpt, the Caligae, look to me, just a tad low, looking closer at least, the ankles are also looking rather lower down than they should be, but I suppose this might be photo angle or because the figure is unpainted as yet.
