Did somebody know, from which historical point of view existed a bugler at Fallschirmjägern?

This issue was hashed up before, and a photograph of a Fallschirmjaeger with a bugle during the invasion of crete was posted on the thread.

Items like the bugle and the famous hunting horn used by John Frost of the 2PARA were helpful in forming up the scattered elements of airborne infantry. By their nature WW2 airborne troops were likely to get scattered. Modern troops lack things like flags to form up on, but other means were found of gathering and sorting units.

The guy with the umbrella is based on an actual British officer, don,t know his name.

I don't recall his name either, but his explanation was something along the lines of, "With this in tow, there will be no question of my being a British officer in case of capture." Or something like that. You can see the likeness of this very same fellow in the recently discussed movie, A Bridge Too Far.

"And in those corridors I see figures, strange figures, weird figures, Steel 186, Anaconda 74, American Cane 138"

Classic figure from "A Bridge To Far"........tonight would be a good night to see it again!

This should be about number 24!

Wife just made a fresh loaf of Cinnamon Rasin bread......wonder if I can con
her into some late night movie sandwhiches?

That bread looks pretty good, though I am a bit stuffed right now. I am bachelor man this week, so I just had a classic fry up....mounds of fried eggs on toast covered with bacon and baked beans, must digest a while.........

Bread is killer, wife is baking about 3 loafs a week. It is some new slow

rising deal. The dough does its thing at night while you sleep....and you

smell fresh baking bread all day long.

I know its not military miniatures........but fresh bread is Good!:D
