Hi Guys,

I just got back to HK on Tuesday evening from the ‘States and want to say a very big thanks to everyone who made this particular visit so enjoyable…

As many of you know, this year, KINGS X and K&C took over the running of the TEXAS TOY SOLDIER SHOW from our good friends Nick & Deanne Versteeg of Toy Soldiers of San Diego. Nick & Deanne have done a fantastic job of starting and developing this great toy soldier show and we have been privileged to be asked to take over the reins.

To say I was nervous would be a slight understatement but alongwith the great team of Laura, Martin, Helen, Adam, J.P. Norma, Ruth and the Hong Kong gang led by Tammi we seemed to pull it off.

We had T.V., Radio and Press coverage and fantastic support from the Menger Hotel in San Antonio.

We also had terrific bunch of dealers who came from all over the ‘States as well as France, Germany and the U.K.

And guess what… we had a whole lot of collectors… old and new that increased our attendance by over 40% on the previous year’s show. Sales were brisk and many of the dealers reported their best sales ever at a Texas Show. Believe me that was a huge relief!

On Friday before the show we had the Kings X “Welcome Party” for Collectors and Dealers which was a lot of fun and on Saturday there was our “Symposium Dinner” with Britain’s own Richard Walker… Toy soldiers of San Diego’s Nick Versteeg and… yours truly. We also had “John Wayne” in attendance which was a big but very welcome surprise and over seventy guests.

All in all it was a weekend to remember for toy soldier enthusiasts and I can’t thank everyone enough for making it possible … What I can also say is that it will be even better next year and I’m already looking forward to it!

Adios and Muchos Gracias for now.

Andy, I may call them like I see them on one thread.......let me give credit where credit is due on another.

I for one of many Treefroggers and attendees of the Texas Show must say that it was a terrific venue. I wished I had more time when I was there. All the pictures and everyone I have spoken to whole heartedly agree that King and Country did a bang up job on this show. There was so much more then any of the previous shows, certainly no offense to Toy Soldier San Diego who previously did a good job as well. I hope KC holds on to this show for years to come. It was good of you to mention the employees that were there but let us also thank Martin's father Mr. Vasquez a retired Air Force Master Sargent for his help at the ticket desk.

Thanks again for a great show to all the KC staff and employees!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi everyone,
I just wanted to add that the show was truly a grand event! It was a lot of work putting the show together but as Andy said it was a weekend to remember. The thing that caught my attention all weekend was seeing the large amount of families in attendance. Children need to be exposed to this great hobby and shows like this are the best way to grab their attention.
The Friday night party was festive, the show did not dissapoint and the dinner/symposium was a great time for all!
Thanks to everyone from the forum who attended and if you missed it this year we look forward to seeing you next year when we do it again... BIGGER & BETTER!!!
Best Regards
