I just finished opening a package from George at Minute Man. Sometimes while waiting for the package I know is comming, I feel like a drug addict waiting for my dealer to show up with my "stuff". I get nervous and apprehensive, thoughts always returning to "where is my stuff", you know, just like an addict.

Anyway, the postman delivered a very nice package to me today. In it was a very wonderfully made AB-43 and three figures in DAK colors. The lines on the armoured car are crisp and clean. It arrived in perfect condition with no missing or broken parts. The painting detail was very well done. It matches up perfectly with my K&C DAK collection.

I must mention that I don't really like the two figures (other than the commander). I just put them back into the box. But the credibility of the vehicle far outweights the figures I don't like. I put the commander on the turret and he looks great.

I am very pleased with my purchase and I would recommend it to anyone who collects 1:30 DAK vehicles.

Thanks so much for the very kind words.

But,I worked so very hard on the figures, truly. It would be so very helpful and constructive if you could describe why you wouldn't like those awesome figures. We've seen an impressive uptick in the sales of our WWII figures starting with the Nijmegan release so I want to be sure " we're on it " with whatever we need to do to improve or modify a particular genre.

And also I would be tickled to start getting any and all input from all collectors in regards to the vehicle and figures, as I've already heard the figures are truly exciting folks just as much as the vehicle, but maybe there are some concerns?

Im all ears!:)

best regards

I don't really have any thing bad to say about the two figures. Compared to the earlier figures, they are much better. For some reason they just don't trip my trigger.

I guess I have been involved with K&C for so long and have so many figure sets that I just prefer that style. The commander looks great sitting on the turret. I may find a place for the guy kneeling with the wrench as I change dios around. I prefer to display the armoured car with the wheel on but it is nice to have the option for something different in the future. Hell, I have been kit bashing K&C and CS vehicles since I began collecting them. I have 12 repaints by Alex Prieto. Three of them are CS Nijmegan vehicles repainted panzer grey.

The other guy with the bayonet will take some looking at and thinking before I can find a place for him. I don't have anything bad to say about them either one. The paint and detailing is exceptional. I don't have any more WWII Britains figures either.

Sometimes it just takes me awhile to get used to different scuplting styles.

Well your very kind to spend the time to respond. I understand that. KC has a very distinct style and after living with our sample figures for a while I really have to say they are alot of fun. Bright colors, some neat personality that shows through. Not for me of course but certainly I see the draw. I grew up with a more military miniature backround ( Im 42 ) so I think that influences the work bunches.

Enjoy the vehicle, I have the Normandy version at home. I set it up as soon as they came in.

Happy Collecting!,

Brian

Hello, I'm anxiously awaiting the winter version of the AB43 to arrive. I ordered it from Brian at the Westcoaster. He had display samples of all three of his AB43's at the show and I they are all just amazing. I ordered the winter one because I have several K & C Bulge pieces that it would work perfectly with. But I really liked the DAK ground figure who is pointing and slightly crouching w/ his rifle slung over his shoulder. Ironically, this is one of the figures that you don't enjoy as much. Maybe this could work out for both of us, because, even though I do not have a single DAK figure in my growing collection, I would love to have that one particular figure. If you would be willing to sell this figure, could you please let me know? I think it's an absolutely fantastic figure, But if you'd like to keep your set intact, I would certainly understand, of course! Thanks for sharing your review of the AB43; I have been watching for them as we should all be receiving ours right about now per Brian's latest update. Rock on CS!!!

I appreciate the offer, I want to keep the set intact. Thanks.

Michael,
Thanks for the review and many thanks for your continued support, I appreciate it very much; so far, the returns on all three of the armored cars from customers have been very favorable, so kudos to Brian for making products collectors are happy with...........

I have a Dak set coming......If George ships it to me.... I am more a vehicle guy and might be willing to help you out....I have been known to break up sets...Michael

Thanks for the reply. I felt a bit awkward asking you to sell a part of a set you had just received, but I as you may know, when it comes to military miniatures, especially like these, it's hard to have self-discpline! lol Thanks again for the review and response, and I hope you enjoy your new CS set. I will leave a review when mine arrives too. :)

Thanks Maddadicus! Once you receive your set and look over the figures, please let me know if you'd be willing to part with that particular one. It's really an awesome figure from the sample I was able to view up close at the show, and it's removable from the base too making it quite versatile. Thanks again for the message, I really appreciate it.

Recieved my Dak version today and I just love the piece. Tons of detail, solid, rugged construction, great paint scheme, screams you gotta have it..As to scale, this is a tall armored car and should not be an eye distraction next to any K/C vehicle. Figures are well detailed and though not as K/C bright in their colors, they are not as dark as CS earlier stuff...A bonus, there are various loose bits of stowage given ,so that you can self customize the tank. I am still trying to figure out where the canteen on the white strap goes. Thanks, Michael

From one Michael to another, I agree. It took me a few minutes to figure out the extra stuff. I looked at web pictures to see if they were shown in them and experimented with different locations untill I got my pea sized brain to put the long piece on the rear just around the rear lights. I put the canteen on the raised hole under the left side turret hatch. I can't find any other place. Putting it there still allows the hatch to be open.

You guys are making it hard to wait for my AB-43 DAK which is in the mail and I am hoping will be here Friday or Monday.

I just received my AB43 Bulge version, and it is incredible, no exaggeration whatsoever. If you're sitting on the fence thinking about buying one of these gems, now's the time come down off the fence. A wonderfully detailed vehicle at a more than fair price. The three figures are exceptionally animated, and the poses are very effectively imaginative. The story-telling ability of the figures illustrates Brian's creative machinations go far beyond nuts and bolts. So congratulations are in order CS; a fantatsic realization come to life, and a very happy customer! :) May I also add that the quality of the vehicle received is exactly like the sample I viewed at the Westcoaster, for those who wondering if the actual production model would be as stunning as the prototype. Perhaps even more important for us guys who have an existing K & C collection, the AB43 and figures go very harmoniously with my existing K & C Bulge figures as well. (Maybe we can all learn something from such harmony :p - please don't shoot! Just a joke ;)). I can shoot some pictures in the next few days for anyone who might be interested/curious, but not tonight; I'm too busy playing! Oh, one last thing that was already mentioned here....nice touch too with all the extra gear that is included. Now if I could only get the pointing/ crouching/ removable from base figure that comes in the AK set...hmmmmm.....Michael, have you received and reviewed your set yet? :D
Can't wait to see what CS produces next. Whatever it is, I'm certain it will bring a smile to this collector's face! Again, a tip of the hat to CS -Joe

PS: ENCORE!

Just got my AB-43 Afrika Korps and am very pleased with it. I think it is the best CS piece to date with lots of detail on the vehicle including the commanders chair inside the turret. The ability to take off a wheel and have a diorama piece or leave the wheel on is a plus vs. having a static broken down AFV. Figure poses and faces are good. Goes well with my K&C Afrika Korps pieces.

One picky point. The model is of an AB-41 (550 built) which served in North Africa, Italy, Hungary and the Eastern Front. (Sorry Brian, cannot find any AB-41 use in Normandy) The AB-41 has the 37 mm cannon as does the CS model. The AB-43 was to be an upgraded AB-41 with a 47 mm anti-tank gun, but it did not get into production as Italy surrendered.

It is a good piece to start off Italian armour with as it was produced in good numbers and well used. Now we need an M14/41 tank, an L3/35 scout car, an L6/40 Carro Armato scout car, and the 3 main Semovente SPG's (47/32, 75/34 and 90/53). What?? Too greedy??
