I had advised Andy Neilson via E-mail that K&C's new US Army Rangers sets (DD126 to DD134) were splendid, but were not appropriate for my diorama of "attacking" troops on Omaha Beach on D-Day, June 6, 1944. Andy Neilson advised me that there will be more US Army "action" figures for D-Day, but not until 2011. K&C is full up on their schedule with other projects for the rest of 2010. So I & others will have to wait until sometime next year.

That's why I was so pleased to see the D-Day commonwealth troops in action sets last year. I love K&C figures but I wish they'd do a few more action poses.

Those new American sets do look great and there is still so much to look forward to with the likely summer D-Day releases later this year. I've noticed over the years that K&C tend to release their figures in two blocks. The first one is usually a group of non-combat poses and then it is followed up later with a second release of combat poses, enough to satisfy most collectors. Personally I prefer the non-combat poses, especially the walking patrols or groups gathered around taking some R & R.

Dear "Easy":
Thanks for your reply to my new posting on K&C D-Day US Army sets. Ah yes, you UK collectors are lucky having all those splendid British D-Day attacking sets to select from. I started my new "D-Day on Omaha Beach" diorama about 9 months ago hoping to get additional "action" US Army D-Day sets from the 1st & 29th Infantry Divisions. I have the new Sherman D-Day tank set and the (3) new K&C 1st Infantry Division "action" sets of two figures each. While the K&C Bunker and a few other WS sets are enough to complete the German side I still need some more US Army attacking sets. Looks like I'll have to wait to 2011.

Dear "Cyber Field Marshall":
Thanks for your reply to my new posting on future K&C US Army D-Day action sets. I hope you are right & that there may yet be more US Army "action" D-Day sets later this year rather that having to wait until 2011.

I assumed that these new DD figures in non-combat poses were intended to be used to fill up the landing craft. But, we could definitely use a lot more "on the beach" figures in combat poses.

Yes I wouldn't have expected any more D Day figures this year as we have had quite a wave of them in this latest dispatch.Although not in action these new Rangers will look so good in the forthcoming landing craft, run in to the beach scene from SPR sort of thing. So I will get these for my landing craft and look forward to even more next year,D Day is one of K&C's flagship ranges and also one of my favourite:)

Dear "Rob" & "Kurt":
Thank you very much for your comments on the current K&C D-Day US Army sets and new ones to come out in 2011. Yes, I am assuming there will be indeed more assorted US Army D-Day sets coming out at least by mid 2011 or so.

Am also really looking forward to the wading Sherman we saw pics of at the Westcoaster this year, along with the Firefly we are going to be spoilt for armour for our Brit and US troops.

When is the wading Sherman due out?

Terry

In 2010 or in 2011?

Terry

Well I'd have thought this year, because would we see a wading Sherman a full year before it was releleased, not saying it couldn't happen but it would be quite unusual.

I was asking because the thread is called Action D-Day sets for 2011.

Yes but that was also in conjunction with the fact the author was wondering if there would be anymore releases this year,so its valid.

What would really be nice when new Omaha Beach figures are released would be to release them in both 1st Division and 29th Division markings -- kind of like what was recently done with the Airborne figures

Some 29th Inf with Bangalore torpedoes ala Saving Private Ryan would be welcome, along with a US flame thrower team.

Rob

I wouldn't mind a heavy weapons platoon with the markings of the 29th Div. Mg's, mortars, bazookas, etc. -- Al

Would expect it June or July perhaps.

Dear "Rob", etal:
I had just recently sent some photos to Andy Neilson on my new small dioarama of about 14 x 22 inches of K&C's WW2 French Resistance Fighters ambushing a small German WW2 Army Infantry column made up of #1 set of WS 095 (marching officer) & #10 WS 096 (marching riflemen) & the #3 sets of the French FFI. He replied back to me that my new diorama was very nice. But then confirmed that there will be no chance at all for more action D-Day sets of US Army until into 2011 relative to my nearby D-Day diorama of US Army 1st INF DIV troops attacking on Omaha Beach June 6, 1944.
