In a book I have on uniforms of that period and conflict, there is a similar looking soldier shown as from the Louisiana Regiment.

The piping on collar, epaulettes, pointed cuffs of the coat and down the outside trouser legs in black not the light blue of yours, but he does have the white covering on his kepi and cover s his neck.

Maybe this could point you in the right direction ???

Difficult to say
70 units North with the name Zouaves
25 companies in the South

Perhaps the 11th New York

Re: ACW identification Zouave - Russian manufacture?

Someone ought to be able to identify the mark, at least. There's a good number of collectors of Russian figures here in the forum. I'm surprised none of them has spoken up.

Also, if you search the forum, you should be able to find at least one thread where we discussed the marks used by various Russian studios. That mark on your figure might be there.

I think there are sources online, too, though since I don't collect the Russian-made figures (I paint my own), I don't have anything bookmarked and I'm not able to make a specific recommendation.

Prost!
Brad
