I was wondering if anyone out there knew of a nice grass mat for a shelf diorama?

I've bought my father most of Black Hawk's Custer's Last Stand figures, there's not many figures in that series, so it doesn't need to be huge (maybe a square foot would work).

So I'm thinking some taller dead yellow grass.......

Who makes a nice one? Thanks in advance for the help :smile2:

I went to a fabric store and bough some tan teddy bear fur. I lightly sprayed it willy nilly with two different colours of green to change the shades. I then took some shears and cut the length "will nilly" and then brushed it back and forth and all over - and did another bit of spray paint.

the result? a 4 foot by 18inch diorama with all my Zulus figures on it- it looks awesome!!! shared it with some other members here when they bought some Figures from me in the classifieds. Still have about a rough square yard left.

It was on sale, and I think I had a coupon, plus 2 cans of florists spray paint I think I was out the door with change from 30 bucks!

If I ever bust out my Custers last stand out again (and find the room) I am going to build a Knoll with styrofoam underneath it and use some of my remaining "fur". the fur helps cover the bases up as well which is a nice effect for me.

I went to Walmart one day and bought a 2x3 foot white bathroom rug for $19.99 and dyed it a green color. It came out very good.
The rug grass is tall but you can cut it down wherever it needs it.
