Would anyone know how to make your own custom decals using ink jet printer ?

thanks

Hi, cnq, I never have made my own, myself, but I know of tutorials and discussions at the scale modeling sites. You might want to have a look at these:

Fine Scale Modeler: http://cs.finescale.com/f/
Aircraft Resource Center: http://www.aircraftresourcecenter.com
Modeling Madness: http://www.modelingmadness.com
Agape Modeling: http://agapemodels.com/forum

It's supposed to be relatively easy, creating your images in an imaging program, and then printing them on decal paper. It used to be necessary to use an ALPS printer, but I think that's no longer the case.

Hope that helps, prost!

Thank you Brad. I'll check out those sites.

When I do them all I do is find the image I want then resize it on the computer and save it then use some decal paper that works in a computer and press print. Its that simple really the hard part is resizing and cutting them out

It will be easier if your doing aircraft decals as I make collar patches and similar for figures and AFV unit symbols

Any help just PM me

Biggest part is creating the image. For rescaling its best to create a vector image. Alternatively you can use any image and rescale it.

Printing the image on decal paper is the easy part.

After printing I always seal the image with Microscale Liquid Decal Film.

And that's it. Simple to do.

And if you're building model kits, I recommend to scan the decal sheets in and save the image.:wink2:
