I have come across the following figures and would like some advice on what they are and if they are worth anything?

Based on the condition that I see they are really not worth much if anything. Unless you have the original boxes and the condition is stellar there is no market for these.
This of course is my opinion having been a collector of Britains for many years and selling off most of my collection.

This thread should be placed in General Glossy Discussion - Glossy Identification.

It's a collection of British hollowcast figures, mostly by John Hill (and at least one Crescent), as far as I can tell. Any Britains would be marked as such on the bottom of the base or the underside of a prone figure. I'm afraid I have to concur with nysoldiers as to the value of the bunch, beyond curiosity value.

I should have added that there's some of us who get great enjoyment out of taking old, damaged figures like these and restoring them to their original, or greater, glory. Check out Johnnybach's masterful work in the Glossy Britains and Repairs sections of the Forum.

Yes - have to agree with previous views on these. They are a collection of mostly quite common British hollowcast Toy Soldiers - in a "well played with" condition. Lots of damage to various bits and pieces - normally the thin bits and extremities wear out first.

There IS a market for such figures, as many people get enjoyment from repairing and restoring them to their former glory - but don't expect a big return from this selection. Quite often, the spare parts cost more than the damaged figure.

I have heard that there is a " Toy Swap Meet" held in Bristol - but don't know when and where, as I don't live near there.
You might try and find out details - and try your luck there? Maybe start with an internet search?

Another option might be a Car-Boot Sale - any near you?? Start by asking (say) £1 each for foot - and £2 or so for Mounted figures.

Alternatively, why not break them up into small lots with a common theme - (e.g: Scots, Cavalry, Infantry,... etc.,), and put them up on e-bay - with a realistic starting price. I wouldn't expect to pay more than £1 for a good foot figure - ( less for badly damaged) and say £2 for a Mounted figure - unless they are a bit "Special", though unfortunately, there's nothing of any real interest in these figures for me. I probably have all of the ones I can see here, already.

Thanks for the advise, I was going to spilt them up and push them out on ebay, I have seen loads at the London and Birmingham toy shows but I collect relatively new sets and had no idea.
