AK071 -Hello guys, I just got a K&C komet plane and was wondering on your opinions on this Hans-Joachim (Jochen) Marseille & BF 109 model. I have a forces of valor BF-109 with snow camo and it is from the older detailed versions which I find to be one of their better diecasts. I am wondering how this AK071 is weathered and painted and any opinions on it. It might be cool for me to have two 109s, one with snow camo from the finland air war and one from north Africa. I just love the DAK , I traveled to el elamein and mersa matruh Egypt and saw Rommel’s cave, leather jacket , maps, and even sat in his chair. The museum there did not have planes but it did have tanks , trucks, and artillery. If any of you guys have photos of your AK071 or opinions, let me know. I may want to buy one. thanks,

I really like my Marseille Bf 109f. It is very well painted and detailed and it is lightly weathered. It is a fine model. -- Al

It's one of the best they've made. I have a friend who has the K & C wooden one (which is very nice) and this is comparable. It's not often you can say that a poly is just as good as a wooden version.

I own AK071, "Yellow 14" and love it. It's a fantastic airplane. I've always liked the color scheme of this airplane and K&C did a nice job with the detailing and paint.

Here's a few b&w pictures:

You can see it pictured in the middle top of my modest K&C collection:

Would highly recommend and I like it much better than Rommel's Desert Taxi.

That collection is many wonderful things .. but I am not sure if "modest" is what I would choose. Really fantastic AK collection and superb display. Maybe a few close ups?????? --- Larry

Just purchased one on UK Ebay today £145 with free postage.

Looking forward to this one very much.

Me109F has to be the best looking 109 mark

I have the AK-071 and Andy and his team made me the wooden warbird bf109 tropical. The AK 71 is excellent and matches the quality of the wooden Bf109 tropical - they are both excellent models and fit really well side by side - am about to buy another AK 071 to make a flight. I also have the Me 110 which makes a great accompaniement to the group

Mine arrived this week.

I had the Corgi Desert 109 in 1/32 ....Black 6. This was a more detailed model so I would say it was better technically, than the K&C. However, I found it a very cold model which did not stir the emotions. I sold it without feeling any loss......actually made a small profit ^&grin

The K&C model has a lot less technicaly, no engine detail, no working flaps, fixed under cart. However, for me, it captures the emotions and flavour of the 109 much better.

Best of all is the figures that you can add to really bring it all to life. The Corgi model is spoilt by its figure ....... the K&C is enhanced.:salute::
