I know several of you reading this have possibly encountered my dilemma from earlier posts. Notwithstanding over-edification of this topic,
I ask your forgiveness.
But still the semantics persist to nag me;
1.) Any of K&C's Albatross' (Richthofen, Voss or Goering), come with a numbered series collectors card, due to the moniker (S), or, "strictly-limited?"
2.) Confusing to me is the code on the box, listed as FW-098A (Red Baron). Is the "A" assigned A,B,C (Richthofen, Voss, Goering)?

So my peeves are 2-fold, and if someone would enlighten me,

I would greatly appreciate it! ;) Ollie_D.

A friend of mine has all three. He has no certificate as to their number or limit and, I would also suspect the alphabetic denomination is just as you say A for the first aircraft and so on.

I think you may find that only the actual SL gets certification the other limited runs like 250 series or the flak gun etc do not

Hope it clears this up for you
Mitch

Hi Ollie. Dug out the Voss Albatros box. There is no numbered card in the box. The box itself does not state 'S' or 'SL' or any related limited production. The model number on the box is LW105A, which is, I believe, the designation for the Voss Albatros and figure. On the box are pictures of the 3 different planes, all stating that the figure is not included. The Richthofen aircraft model # is FW098; the Goering is #FW099; the Voss #FW105. The figures are also shown with their own #'s; Richthofen FW107; Goering FW108; Voss FW106. Now, since the aircraft did come with the figures, the FW105A designation on the aircraft box must mean the aircraft, FW106, and pilot, A. Since you said that your Richthofen box is designated FW098A, the A designation must be universal for the plane and pilot. I would guess that the Goering box reads FW099A, again for plane and pilot. Even though the production numbers of the 3 Albatros were limited to 150 each, (I think), the aircraft were never advertised or officially designated as SL models, thus no numbered card. At least that is how I interpret all this. -- Al

Thank You Mitch and Al... I will re-read your posts, as you offered great insight into my question. Going down the rabbit hole of K&C's logic for limited or strictly limited pieces are uncharted waters, for me. Thanks again!

I don't recall if K & C ever said how many they were making but a SL means a certain amount is being made and no more. Other times, they will announce they are making a specific amount of an item but may make more if demand warrants.

That is not limited and those terms shouldn't be used as it caused confusion in the past. When they made WS 71 and FOB 09, they used the words "limited supply" and people thought they were buying a SL when this was never the intent. So now the word limited is not used unless it really is a SL.

It was listed on the K&CUK website 150 limited run and, I had e-mail confirmation from HK that this was the case. I think it was also used on the 88mm flak gun which was a 750 production run

Easy to see how new collectors can get confused with this
