Yo Troopers, very surprised and disappointed in some of you guys. A Lot of you are always on about what a great forum this is, OK no argument there. But you know when nothing is happening and you are a bit bored, which happened last week with myself. So thought I will go and have a look at the great untouchables K&C:). So I clicks on 10 members in the K&C thread, and some very high ranking Officers, and guess what only two out of the 10 had any photos in their albums. So WHATS up guys, do you just like to TALK a good war. Shannon goes out of her way to put this programme on the forum, so we can see all the other types of Toy Soldiers we don't collect, or maybe get interested in once we have seen them. The response is really poor, and some of you Generals as well:mad:. Don't want to hear any lame excuse I don't have a camera, or don't know how to post a photo. Which takes me to the Ranks thread we had running. I didn't make a comment at the time, but will now. I think Ranks are given out far to easy IE: on post you can just put one liners up and really say nothing and they count towards the Ranking system. To my mind they should be discounted and only given out to the guys who start the threads who have something to say, and put photos up. I mean we are going to have a Regiment of Generals and a Troop of Troopers at this rate:eek:. So come on guys shape up in this mans Army and lets see some action instead of TALK.
Bernard.

If you like Trophy check out my albums;)

Cheers

Martyn:)

Bernard, you've made me feel quite ashamed here:eek::eek:.I must confess i've not put up any albums yet,but i did post pictures of my collection some weeks back.

As for post numbers, often the post is just a one or two liner because it is congratulating someone on a great dio or repaint job.

Pretty soon, Rob is going to be the head man here. He's catching up :D

Hey Bernard, As far as the rank system goes, It's no different that the real military. The biggest bull****ers get promoted the quickest.

Just kidding folks, but Rob is correct that most posts don't need a whole paragraph when one or two lines will do. ;)

How true in certain cases! ;)

While Benard, you are certainly entitled to your opinion but with respect, creating albums is only one way to contribute here and only one way to post photos as well. If you research a bit further you may find that many of us whom you criticize have posted many useful things besides photos and many photos other than albums. To cite one most notable example, my good friend UKReb has no albums but has posted what are to me the most enthralling and interesting set of photos on the forums. I think you would not say his contributions are unworthy. So while I am all for photos, however posted, we all serve in different ways mate and that is not just talk.;):D

Hi, Bernard!

I'm relatively new at the forum but I have an album. Now, it's a small album, only a sample of things to come. I am currently working in 4 dioramas, and as soon as they become ready I'll have pictures of them.
:)

But if you like Conte Vikings and Barbarians, an a few other barbarians as well, but all means, visit my current album!
:D

Cheers...

Yo Trooper spit lol, eating humble pie here, your right in what you say, it came across all wrong about the photos and albums. I have total respect for all the history side of the forum listed by some of the Troopers, some really excellent stuff is posted on different wars, uniforms etc. So no offence meant guys to the historians and the likes.
Just putting myself on a charge for speaking out of place, will probably get two weeks Jankers again washing up:( (whats new lol).
Bernard.

Bernard,
Hold that rifle high, Trooper! You can stop marchin' when you're told! If the Army wanted you to have a sense of humor, they woulda issued it to you!
Mike;)

Bernard,

I'm kind of guilty of this too.

I do post a lot of photos,

a lot,

but if you don't like the genre of figures or the maufacturer I chose to collect, then they are not going to be of much interest to you.

I'm sure if I looked through my posts, that a large percentage of my posts are "kudos" given to fellow members.

"one liners"

I love the history threads, to me they are as good as the pictures, but again, it has to be an era I'm interested in.

What really pushes my buttons, are the "how to" threads.

I really like those long threads when the poster takes the time out to photograph each step and explain it in detail, but again, it has to be something I'm interested in.

Most recently, Brad (thebaron) did a great thread on casting, with photos and step by step tutorials.

I doubt if I'll ever get into casting, mostly because my painting skills suck, but I love reading those threads that teach.

Brad really put out an informative thread there.

Anyway, when I'm bored and can't find a new post to read that grabs me, I go to the "archives" and read the old posts, from before I joined.

I can always, and I mean always, find something good in there.

I was going to post the MFCA exhibition pics as a gallery, but it looked like there would have been a resizing issue, and I wanted to get them up as quickly as possible (ie, no time to stop and read all of the instructions on a new procedure). So, I chose to post them in a thread instead. But I'll take a closer look at the process and try it out with some other subject.

Prost!
Brad

Hi, Mike, I didn't read all the posts in this thread before I added my previous post, I came in off the New Posts page, and I'd like to say thanks for the kind word! I'm glad you find the thread interesting and useful.

Prost!
Brad
