All I Want For Christmas (1 Viewer)

Mariah Carey liked it also.

"Pop star Mariah Carey has tweeted the crew of a Royal Navy warship after they made a Christmas video using one of her songs to celebrate their homecoming.

HMS Ocean's crew mimed to her 1994 hit All I Want for Christmas Is You and put in online.

After watching it, the singer tweeted: "This is the best thing I've ever seen, you guys just made my day! Happy Happy Christmas!!! x0x0 to the troops."

"No man will be a sailor who has contrivance enough to get himself into jail; for being in a ship is being in a jail, with the chance of being drowned."

True enough Scott. I s'pose I was thinking back to some lines of Wilfred Owen when he wrote in "Dulce et Decorum est" about some Poor Bloody Infantry soldiers....do you know the one - begins......

"Bent double, like old beggars under sacks,
Knock kneed, coughing like hags, we cursed through sludge,
Till on the haunting flares we turned our backs
And toward our distant rest began to trudge................"

In each - we serve.................it would be the Navy for me, if I were ever to get the chance again.............johnnybach

My brief sea experience at age 15 was going out of Gloucester for a week in December with the Sea Scouts on the Coast Guard Cutter General Greene. The first and only time I have ever been sea sick. At least in the Navy, ships have showers, warm bunks, and hot chow. I do have a lot of respect for the Navy.

What is REALLY cool is that service people NOW have the inexpensive technology to put this video on and share it. The HMS Ocean must have great moral.
