Its been all to quiet on the First Legion front lately . It sort of feels like the quiet before a Great storm hits  With December just around the corner i can't help but feel that the First Legion team has been working hard and are getting ready to drop a serious BOMB  . Could it be pre-orders from the workbench  new unannounced products from existing lines  or something totally new like a new range  It just seems all to quiet and I smell something BIG and its not my old dogs bad gas :( Any thoughts as to what may be next ?? Or in store for First Legion collectors in the coming year ?? All the best Gebhard

End of year for any business is to reduce inventory and minimze the impact of the tax man. Might be no more secretive than that..;)Michael

Did the second wave of Crusaders ship yet? They were supposed to go out in Mid-November. I know I haven't got them yet.

If they are planning new lines (and I'm sure they are)I'm on a Bushy Run kick now.;);)

Mikeicus ,
I'm willing to bet your wrong , but if thats all it is i can live with it as long as Mr Matt doesn't try that retro-pricing crap :eek:

Don't tell Mr Matt but when he says Mid-November he really means early December or so . There is always so much on my buy list I actually welcome the normal tardiness
I'm also waiting for the Hospitaller Grand Master and the two teutonic Knights :) All the best Gebhard

Whats Bushy Run ? Sounds like a nickname for that Italian runner girlfriend I had back in School  WHOA gotta love the 70's & 80's

Quiet and Confident.....First Legion is all about quality not quantity....I suspect releases to be well worth the wait...Especially in regards to Winter Stalingrad and AK releases

Bushy Run was the climatic Battle of Pontiac's Rebellion in which many indian tribes rose up against British rule in former French territory in 1763.Since Matt elected to do AWI over FIW this would be a nice mini range in between the wars.Or it could be a figure of your former girlfriend.:D

Between a second group of Crusaders and the AWI 5th Foot Grenadiers, I think that FL is just waiting a little bit before opening up for preorders. As Gebhard said, a serious preorder bomb is probably on the way!

I was thinking the same thing the other day, kinda quiet on the FL forum site, but I'm sure things will get moving along with Christmas coming!! as far as 2011, I hope it is as good as 2010 for WWII, great new sets, vehicles in 2010, it can only get better from here, looking forward to the London show pics and hopefully some good First Legion pics...Sammy

I am looking forward to the rifles release, along with French Dragoons. In 2011 I am hoping for more Green. Also more Germans.

I was looking around for connaisseur figures
Well , what a surprise , graded connaisseur figures
Some of those i could have painted myself
Top quality for around 400$ US (mounted) 120$US (standing)
and their top quality, i could'n see the big difference with FL
So quietly i will wait for the next preorder to come out.
By the way Blucher and the Landwehr are coming(Hope)

There are so many wishes for new figures that I have. I just sit here online and wait for the next release. I also counsel my son that college is over rated!:D

Seeing the Napoleonic troops that First Legion offers, I wish I had found out about them sooner. Of course, my wallet is happy as things stand.

Thanks for the History lesson , it sounds interesting . I think it would be a good move on the part of First Legion to do a line that would include American Indians of some kind . There seems to be a lot of fans of this period and I'm sure collectors would love to see First Legion produce some :) I don't collect this period but I'm pretty sure I would buy a couple of American Indian warriors , they do look very cool :D Would love to have a Warrior mounted on a painted horse that would be something . All the best Gebhard

American Indian figures would be right at home in the current AWI line, since different tribes fought on both sides in that conflict. They were a significant feature during the Saratoga campaign, for example. Not in the Battles of Freeman's Farm and Bemis Heights so much, but in the periphery of the campaign, such as the Battle of Oriskany. Also, Sullivan's Campaign in 1779 saw a Continental army strike at the Iroquois in an attempt to end the raiding that was taking place along the frontier. Don't think that there would be any mounted warriors though, as that would more at home for some Plains Indians.

I certainly think that in time, FL should do some Indians. With thier sculpting and paintwork, you know FL would do an excellent job. However, they shouldn't do it until after a couple of releases of Continentals!:)
