Can anyone help me with info about the "All The Queen's Men" line of toy soldiers?![]()
K. V. on a visit to the Old Toy Solider Home provided by my daughter while visiting Sunny CAI notice a couple of figures by AQM and seemed they where 54mm. You may want to touch base with Craig when he's back in the shop.......The Lt.
I purchased some AQM sets from The Old Toy Soldier home in 1992. They were definitely very small and did not fit in with my 54-mm figures. I sold them years ago.
Thanks, that will save me a bid on Ebay for the Gatling gun.
Jeez, I wasn't trying to talk anyone out of buying AQM's figures. They are smallish, but very well done. In fact, I forgot that I still have 22 mounted Indian cavalry/lancers from AQM in storage. They looked just fine on a shelf by themselves. I just don't have room to display them anymore.
Hocker stuff is pretty small. Do you have any of them to compare them too. Or any of the real old britains?
AQM is smaller than both in my opinion.
I know. Apparently, 54-mm is in the eye of the beholder and can change over time. Trophy's figures would seem very large next to AQM. If you look at Trophy vs. Steadfast, Bastion, Hiriart, etc. they are noticably more "robust" in my opinion. Even within the same series you can find large variances. For example, I have most of Frontline's Crimean War figures. When Howard Swales switched to matte paint for the French Imperial Guard Zouaves, they were much larger than the glossy painted Russian infantry. Yet they were still called 54-mm. Also Frontline's matte French & Indian War figures are much larger than their earlier glossy Parade Dress figures. All 54-mm! I believe the correct way to measure figures is from the bottom of their feet (excluding the thickness of the base) to the top of their head (excluding any head gear). But we are talking about toy soldiers here and not neurosurgery, so whats a few millimeters among friends.
What kind of Gatling Gun are you looking for? I am making room but apparently not for AQM soldiers![]()
This will give everyone a size comparison between AQM and Britians. From left to right are AQM "7th Cavalry Comanche:, Britians "9th Bengal Lancer", Britians "27th Light Cavalry Madras". Even between Britians there is a great difference in size.
