I have a few of the Almoravid series, concentrating on those dressed in black, but will look to get the Tan versions as well. Does anyone have or can point to a book etc on the uniform and reasoning and/or differences between the Black and the Tan uniformed soldiers?

I will probably just stick to the Almoravids in the era, they are impressive. I think we are due a couple more double sets, as there are 3 archers and a spearman on the main picture which have not been released, i think! With John you never know.

I am aware that the Moors had a Black Guard unit. The Black Guard were commanded by Yusuf ibn Tashfin who was the leader of the Berber Moroccan Almoravid empire. This is the reason I am only collecting the figures in black for the present.
