As far as WB and the transition, we all will have our opinions but there are some things that can not be ignored. Since the announcement, we have seen very little activity related to delivering new figures to the marketplace, we have yet to get a catalog in the US that is of stock figures only, the US website has mostly dated information prior to the announcement, we have not received the Standard in the US even though it was delivered in Europe and communication has been limited other than posts on Facebook which has also stopped recently. We are fast approaching the end of the first 90 days since the announcement which is a critical time for any transition of ownership of a firm. None of what has been delivered from WB since the announcement will instill confidence in any firm. This is especially true of WB whose prior record was less than average in delivering to the market in a timely matter when compared with their peer group. We need to see something from WB in the US shortly other than marketing pictures of proposed figures. As we use to say in another organization I belonged to, a long time ago, "deeds speak". I am hoping for the best from WB but at this point preparing for the worst. Chris

You, as a loyalist, may not but others don't share your opinion. A failure to deliver product timely, which seems to have infected Hudson & Allen, affects the bottom line and confidence in the company.

Well Said Brad:salute::

Britain's does have their own way of scheduling releases. First Legion also showcases items that do not arrive for months or years. The armoured cars and the Pak gun are two that took an age to get to collectors from being shown.

Britain's , Figarti anything that is not released like now is unacceptable. Showcasing a product is a catch 22 or may have been. Showing an 88mm gun once may have allowed a competitor to sneak in and do one first but, those days are gone. I think a distance before release as lomng as its a certain release allows collectors to plan and budget big ticket items like the 88mm in to their finances.

I guess the bottom line is patience and when it comes out it comes out.

It is true Mr. Whoever You Are that FL has not released everything shown in Chicago but let's look at that a bit closely. So far, the only things not released are the Second Sledge from the Retreat from Russia, Winged Hussar and Turks and the Patton. The first sledge was released so they're waiting for a spot to fit the second into their schedule and the Patton was a prototype and Vietnam releases are yearly releases. The remainder are Thirty Years War and we have had a recent release in that range. Not quite the same (although not completely dissimilar), eh? :wink2:

Being in Manufacturing myself, When you have to design in U.S. and Manufacture in Hong Kong that is a huge problem in of itself. All U.S. companies that relies on overseas companies for production and quality control will never be able to give good service. You lose control as soon as you farm it out of your company.

I do agree with Brad regarding mass battle. The mass battle is a good alternative (at least for CW at this point, naps shortly). I will have to take some pics comparing the mass battle to the original FL CW figures and Britain's. For $36.00 you can't beat it.

Thanks Brad, would like to see it. I am definitely looking at all options. Would like FL to change some of the colors of the uniforms, patch removal and headgear on the Confederates for future releases and a few other minor alterations to the Iron Brigade for future MB releases. I can be selective on the current releases and alter them if necessary. Appreciate the help. Chris

No problem Chris. I will try to post them tonight. Since I had an upgrade I have had a terrible time uploading pictures. But I think you will be pleased with them. I like the sculpting and the painting is good. Especially for $36.00.

Thanks everybody, gives me a number of options which I will definitely look at in the coming months to maybe pull the trigger on. I am even looking at buying additional WB figures and modifying them the way Ken does for the show specials. This way they will blend in better with the WB figures. I will post a few to see what you all think. Chris

I do a lot of converting. It's fun and adds another aspect to collecting toy soldiers. The 114th Zouave on the left is the basic WB stock figure with additional hair on forehead & moustaches. Figure on right has added on facial hair and turban.(And obviously repainted in gloss)

Very nice and well done. Definitely an option for me. Do you have any advice with WB figures in particular? Chris

Hi Chris.

Here you go. I pulled a union soldier from Britains because it was a good size match. The Britians confederates I have a jumping over the fence so the comparison is harder to make.

Glad I could help Chris. The Mass battle are good alternative to Britains and are a good way to supplement the regular FL figures. I am sold on them.

Unfortunately, over the years there will be fewer collectors and that influence sales, every time there will be fewer companies to make toy soldiers, new generations have little interest in this hobby, it is my opinion.
