I think I have a bad case of Toy Soldier Collector Fever !!

Everytime that I spend money on other discresionary items - I think to myself...Well That Could Have Been a New French Cuirassier or that could have been a Royal Horse Artillery Set ?

Its bad....Very bad !! ;)

Ron

HA!! I think that all the time. My oil bill just went up $67/month!!! I grit every time thinking about it.

Of course, the mortgage payment!!! I wish I could just a one month repreive on that bad boy!!! I could easily easily catch up on some lost stuff!!

A fellow CPA friend laughs at me all the time when I buy toy troopers and says "Let me run a present value calculation on that!!"

My wife loves LOVES to eat out and of course, I have a family of 5!! She always harps a little with toy troopers but I can always rebuff with "Well, at least what I am spending my money on won't be flushed down the toilet in a day or two!!"

I just got current on all the John Jenkins sets, except for the canoes. I picked-up a Britains limited "Oak" edition "Death of Nelson" set on eBay along with an ACW Conte Jackson and Grant mounted. I have on order the first 4 Black Hawk Custer figures and most of the Collector Showcase ACW sets coming in August. I need a therapist... Still managing to avoid post-1900 periods that would put me in the big league...

Guys

Its almost like a game - last week at the movies .......... then the next morning at the Safeway.........later that afternoon at the Gas Station - I could have had the complete Fields of Battle New Release !!! :p

At lunch yesterday was a NA64 - Guard Artillery Set - I already have one ....but, I could another !!!

Actually, I look at it the other way around. When I look at my collection, I think I could have done this or that with the collection. Not saying I want to but it's kind of a conflict.

Yeah, I have been there as well. I think it is my ADD. I buy stuff and then "Man, this doesn't work" or "I should have gotten that". I kind of feel like a general that has his troopers deployed on too many fronts. Not only do we have different fronts to deal with, we can bounce around in history as well- sort of like some kind of toy soldier collecting Doctor Who's.

 Some people go over the Deep End and other people have Major Psychotic problems? :D:D:D

I lost it 30 years ago. Gave up looking for excuses. I think of concerts and sporting events costing hundreds of dollars for tickets. I justify my soldier buying by saying I don,t do that and I don't go on ski vacations. At least I can look at my stuff the next day.Detroit Show Next Sunday-July 15. Now, here I go again. Leadmen:)

That was me in 2005 - I just think of all the dollars I spent going to all the Washington Nationals Baseball Games for 2005 - Wow - I would have somekind of a collection today :D

Not sure where I would have displayed it all???

I do now wish i hadn't spent hundreds on my 1/6 scale collection,i'd have more money and more space!

I discovered this hobby around 2 years ago. Now I tell "Little Boss" not to bother buying food (or clothes) when she goes to the shopping mall......!!!!

Gentlemen,
REMEMBER the STENDAHL SYNDROME.A well documented state of psychosis attibuted to visitors to Florence who could not stop looking at all the beautiful art displayed, especially at the Uffizi.
No known cure except TOTAL ABSTINENCE.
IF any of your spouses read this post then you are in big trouble.

I'm thinking about setting up at a Freeway (no toll roads out West) exit with a sign. "Not out of work. Just need to buy more soldiers!"
