Having just begun posting my thoughts on this site I was amazed by the feedback it recieved.Mostly all good and positive but it seems a place were people can have a dig at others . I felt like I had started a fight between Two members.Looks like all wars are not fought on battle fields but some are fought here.Thankyou guys it was a fun thing to read Two people with complete different views at each other. My question is K&C make great soldiers but I have a problem with there tanks. The tracks don't look right.I find forces of valor even though they aren't to scale look a lot better .I no these tanks will not go up in price like the K&C ones will, but do we buy on what will make us money or what looks better. My forces of valor tanks look great with K&C soldiers .

Buy what you like, would be my advice. It's your money and your collection and if it looks right to you, then it is right for you.

On the matter of future values, this has been cropped a lot over past threads. There are no guarentees, so the safest thing is go along with the idea that if it's worth a bit more in years to come, great, if not, then I'm still happy to have the piece in my collection.

The K&C tracks have improved. If you take a look at any of the tanks after say, the Hummel release, you will see this. But I agree with you, the FOV stuff is pretty good for not much cash.

And as for the fighting, hey, it comes and goes and if it hadn't been on your thread, it would have been on another one.

I think the general opinion is that k&c figures are way ahead of the competition. When it comes to tanks many feel Honour bound are superior with K&C catching up fast.I never really got into the tracks debate as i am a K&C fanatic and love almost all their stuff. However it is good to see competition and makes for a lively market.

K&C Vehicles have improved vastly over the last year, with the track problem being cured starting with the "General Inspection" strictly limited Sherman, and the newest trucks and motorcycles being extremely good and the aircraft being the best I've seen, but Figarti still makes the best vehicles by a considable margine, with Honour Bound second. K&C's newest releases show that the gap may be closed by the end of 2007.

Hey Louis, can't say i've seen a Figarti Tank in the flesh yet. What is it do you think that makes them better than HB/K&C?.

Rob

Rob,

I've got two of the Honeys and the overall detailing is just amazing. When I first took the Honeys out of the box, the track detail was so good that I thought the treads might move. I actually tried to see if they would . They're superbly made. You might want to think about taking advantage of the sale Treefrog is having.

I'm getting a special Tiger from Rick's father this weekend (no figures) and I can't wait it get it.

Wow Brad that sounds good.Did i read that they are a tad smaller than K&C?

Rob

Brad:

Are they smaller than KC? Thinking of ordering a platoon. It should be about the same size as the KC Stuart. Do you have a photo side by side with KC Stuart?
Thanks

Noli,

They may be a tad smaller but the difference is not that stark. I will try to take a side by side tonight of the Honey and the new K & C Stuart. I remember that Maddadicus did this a long time ago. I'll see if I can find it.

Funny I just had a discussion like this with a fellow I bumped into at a museum last weekend. This fellow dabbles in 1/35th and 1/32nd scale modeling so the following suggestions made sense to him.
His observation was that he would never live long enough to build all of the AFV kits that he buys and that there are times when he would just like to build a diorama with several tanks of one version. Today you can purchase a great kit from Dragon, AFV Club or Tamiya and then buy replacement tracks, drive sprockets, gun barrels, photo etch and resin aftermarket parts and well exceed what several of the comanys now ask for their limited edition resin and white metal vehicles in 1/30th and 1/32nd.
Most of the fellows I know have been taking the 21st Century and Forces of Valor tanks and adding/refining details and doing complete repaints. With a little bench time adding stowage and weathering they will equal or exceed most of the vehicles now offered at a resonable price. In the end you will have a great looking example that is also a unique one that you can take pride in. A note here: I advise you to pick up a scale ruler from your local hobby shop. Once you own one and actually start scaling your vehicles from data and drawings, you will find that everyone is all over the board on scale!
I have built models all of my life and most of the folks I meet are happy to give it a try and share ideas and techniques. This can be far more rewarding than just buying something and setting it on your shelf. As far as value? How can you place a value on the enjoyment and satisfaction of creating something with your own hands and the friendships you may make by sharing ideas with others?

The Figarti Honey is almost identical to the new K/C Stuart in scale. Same hieght and near same length and width. The Honey or any of the Stuarts on sale at TF is a steal. I bought another Honey because of the price.......Michael

Now you've gone and tempted me.I'm thinking the British Honey might look good next to the Matilda and Vickers?.

Rob

Here are photos of side by side comparisons for Rob and Noli. Sorry I'm not the best photographer but you get the idea.

It does concern me, if K/C is skimping on scale as the new Stuart was so much smaller than their early verson. With me, it is important that the scale is consistent from one vehicle to the next, especially if most of one's vehicles belong to a single mfg. I have not heard Andy address this issue. Of course ,the dummy down in scale allows for different mfg. models to fit in for display. I would just like to know what actual scale I am getting. Thanks, Michael

Have you got some photos of the repaints FOV tanks ?
I repaint my corgi die-casts & it is good fun

It would be cool if they made a Stuart tank with the turret removed ,witch was used by the British army in 1944 for recon work

Thanks for the photos Brad their excellant, thats decided it!

Rob

I've got the Figarti Honey and Tiger. The Tiger especially is an amazing piece of work. Defeinitely the best tank in my collection by a long distance.

The Honey I display with my K&C 8th army figures and it looks great. It makes up for my not having the Matilda. Heh actually I sneak my FOV Matilda in there!
