Hi Guys,

At the recent Chicago Show I promised several American K&C collectors to “post” photos of the upcoming “Eagle Squadron Spitfire”.

Well here they are… This “Eagle Spit” is a Spitfire IIA of No. 71 Squadron based at North Weald in England in August 1941.

On 27 August 1941 Pilot Officer Bill Dunn flying this aircraft shot down two Bf.109’s bringing his personal score to 5 making him 71 Squadron’s first “ace”. Dunn and his aircraft were badly shot-up in the process and never flew with the unit again.

The “Eagle” squadron emblem was featured only on the port side of the Spitfire adorning the nose immediately beneath the exhaust stubs.

K&C are producing 250 of this American Eagle Spitfire and it will be released in the first quarter of 2011.

Best wishes and happy flying!
Andy C.

Nice looking Spit. The light color spinner looks good and so does the ES emblem. -- Al

Looks nice. I'm sure this will please all collectors, regardless of nationality.

Now we have two Spits and two Hurricanes I wonder if I could persuade Andy to consider the Bolton Paul Defiant;). Still, I'm looking forward to the Typhoon, this is going to be superb.

Rob...

I am sure it will come its only a matter of when. The defiant is an interesting plane for sure.

The spit is nice but, from collectors in the UK I have spoken to seems it may be more for the US market But who knows?

You may be right after all how many planes can you have as they take up a lot of room.

However, I do remember telling Louis a few years ago that I would be happy just to get one wood plane and he shot back, no you wouldn't, you'll want more! He was so right :D

I agree, it'll be four or five max for me I think, but I can hear my wife now ' You said that about Tanks'!:D

Never seen a Spit I didn't like! :D I've got my Rob Deere version so I'm good. Afterall as mentioned there is only so much room in my home for these enormous pieces. I also have to budget my money for other lines. I'm also looking forward to some other warbirds in the future.

Don't say I didn't warn you. I only had around 40 then. Now I nave more than 80. And kudos to Andy on this Eagle Squadron Spitfire, it's beautiful!:cool:

Very nice. It's funny how I didn't intend to collect planes and I now I own all the polystone planes. Strange how that happens.
