Doing some reading on the Provincials and how crucial they had been during Queen Anne's War and and King William's War, it really made me think about why the Colonists would begin to feel resentment towards its own government. Anyways, here's a new display we created in shop.

With all these great displays you keep doing for the shop, do they have any stock left ! ^&grin^&grin:wink2:

Haha you have no idea how many pieces I take out daily ^&grin

You know, sadly I don't get to keep many of these up actually. Since I run the social media page at Sierra, I typically do a new display everyday. These typically take me about an hour to build and photograph. But I do salvage some of these displays and place them in our front window of our store.

Thanks Larry!

Which book are you reading on these because after doing the research on this diorama yesterday, I must say, I am more than intrigued to read up on these conflicts.

Afternoon, Robo,
Sorry it took me a bit to get back to you, but life does throw a few curves at you every once in a while ...{sm2}

I am a very active American Rev War [Collector / Reader.] My library has 100's of AWI books and a fair collection of FIW books.

While at a Christmas Bazaar in December, I came across a bin of books, mostly history, buried under a table. After rummaging through the box, five of them caught my eye. They were about the "early" struggles between the English, French and Indians. The price was right so I go all 5. (5 for $12.)

Generally, I see that there were 6 major conflicts (depending on what you wish to call major) in North America ranging from 1674 through 1784, leading to the creation of the United States.

King Philip's War 1675 - 1678
King William's War 1688 - 1697
Queen Anne's War 1702 - 1713
King George's War 1744 - 1748
French / Indian War 1754 - 1763
American Revolution 1775 - 1784

So deciding to start at the beginning and have these two underway.

*** Our Beloved Kin: A new History of King Philip's War .. by Lisa Brooks
*** King Philip's War: The History & Legacy of America's Forgotten Conflict .. by Schultz and Tougias.

The first one is rather a heavy handed book but very good so far. More like a dry but factual account.

The second one is a easier read but I am not sure (yet) of the depth. Since I wanted to just get an understanding of K.P.W at first, I put the first one aside and am reading the second, but just started. I also did a lot of reading on the Internet to get my toes into the water and a very high level.

The other three books are: one on Queen Anne's War and two on King George's war. If interested I let you know how they seems.

Best,
