Hi Vamp,

Good luck with the sale of your chariot. I have this set in my Ancient Egyptian collection and it is definitely "drop dead gorgeous!" When combined with other Egyptian figures, it makes a beautiful display. It was also retired very early, so it is difficult to acquire. There is no doubt the piece will enhance any collector's collection.

I have attached to this post a few photos of my set just in case anyone is not familiar with this piece. It is a set to be highly admired!

Warmest personal regards,

Pat :)

It is a beautiful piece, but due to fragility, it was marred by breakage in shipment. I went through 3 of them prior to getting a real good one. Again, it is a beautiful piece that is unequaled. I love mine.

Thanks for posting the pictures Pat.

Tom you are quite right it is fragile. One needs to follow the unpacking instructions carefully!!!!!

Ya,
absolutely, but it is a great piece, one day it will be priceless as I don't forsee it being made again. The other companies that have attempted to make one pale in comparison. This is a 5 star piece. You should keep it!!!!

Looks like I might be doing that anyways. Next time I put it up might be for a lot more. Maybe double? Who knows? Eh bien tant pis.

It is a beautiful piece, however, "the minor repair job" took away my interest. Hope you do sell it for double. Regards, Larry.

Larry,
not speaking for this piece, but in particular to my own experience, a minor repair on these was usually the wheels being reattached to the base, and if that is it, call it Mint!! Seriously, a large number of these from what I heard came in pieces that were not fixable. It took me 3 to get a good one!
Tom

Mark,
you know me too well............Sold them of course. And in truth, they sold for big bucks as I remember in the 500s.

Now, I must disclose that all 3 in total were perfectly livable and had minor minor repairs, I am just anal and settled for the last one which was not fully detached wheels, it had a hairline detachment which is not noticiable and I gave up and quit while ahead.

Now, as for what i have seen, broken wheels, reins, horses, chariot carriage, figures, etc. Also, in all seriousness, read the removal instructions, they are spot on.

Tom

If this piece sells in mint condition in the fives and it's not, I wouldn't want to pay more than 375. Moreover, since it is so fragile, who's to say that something else won't happen. The reason it's rare is probably because there were breakage issues.

Yes Tom I do know you.I wouldn't buy this for myself but for art's sake alone it is a beautiful piece.
Mark

Tom it was the wheels that were repaired or reattached. I do have to call it Excellent!

I remember a local dealer had this chariot in his shop. It really looked like a nice piece. But it is gone now.
