In or around 1992 K&C took the lead on WW2 armour with expensive, but for the time, excellent and innovative wooden armour. By the late 1990's and early noughties K&C maintained their lead and produced much more cost effective polystone vehicles.:D

A few years on, this seemingly one horse race (with apologies in advance to any other manufacturers of the time), suddenly hotted up with NMA coming in cheap, small and medium quality, and HB as a heavyweight (literally) high quality polystone/resin approach, enhanced by brass detailing.

For a while, it seemed K&C might be fading, although many of us who knew Andy, felt this was just a mid point in the race.;)

HB maintained their quality lead for while, but with the M10, Chaffee and others, K&C started to pull back and it was neck and neck for a while.:)

NMA fell at almost the first, then later HB fell at the metaphorical 'Beechers Brook' (with apologies to those that don't understand UK horse racing it is a big fence in the grand national race).:(

K&C were then clearly back in the lead seemingly unchallenged again, but then sneaking up on the inside came a few others, including Figarti.

After just purchasing their Firefly, following admiration of their Grants and others, all I can say is WOW! Are Figarti ahead by a long nose?

The Cromwell is due next month - what a race!!!!:D:D:D

For my money, Figarti has been firmly entrenched in the lead since its first armored release in 2005.

Honour Bound drove the race along hard with its regular production vehicles, and came within a nose of the lead with its gold edition vehicles, but the new Figarti Grant/Lee were the real gold standard.

K&C has closed the gap and was within a length with its most recent armor releases, especially the Chaffee, but . . .

With the Firefly, Figarti pulls away again . . .

Will K&C close the gap with the upcoming Cromwell?

But what's this, coming up hard on the rail, out of no where its First Legion with its first ever armored release, the StuG III . . .

I already have way too much money riding on this race, and now it looks like I'm going to have to place several more bets . . . yep, broke but happy!

It's hard to take pictures when both of your hands are busy grasping a good brew...

Cheeky monkey:eek:, it is hard to take a photograph when you don't take your camera! Besides, you are just jealous, na na na na na:D

More like a bag of Figarti in one hand and a bag of K&C in the other,i had to put my Gin and Tonic down!!.;)

Rob

Peter, no time for chatting - you should be updating the Figarti section of the Treefrog site. :D

Terry

Yeah . . . I just left a message on your answering machine pre-ordering one of the Fireflys. When will they be available, and how much are they? (not that I care, I have to have one).

Our jealousy has nothing to do with it :p Rob was sent on reconnaissance with specific instructions and somehow got distracted.

I can picture it. The Showroom doors finally open and there is a stampede of secretly massing Treefrog Forum Brits, fresh from an egg, bacon and liquid breakfast, who blitzkreig the Figarti table snatching up every Sherman in seconds. There were only 6 Shermans but many more TF Brits. Who got the Shermans. Were there any casualties? :D:D

Terry

Shock, horror, not the glass of gin - whatever next?????

Yes i think one of you could have held the drink up while i had a sip so i didn't put my bags down!.

Kevin,i know what you are thinking.....

'And the horse you rode in on'!;)

Clive was trying not to laugh as we elbowed aside old ladies as we fought to give him our credit cards/cash/car keys/mortgage statements/spare kidneys etc.I think someone even offered Clive sexual favours as a down payment on the 88!.
