A couple of you might be interested in the Reb's new recruit. I cannot locate the original shot but it was a Heritage 54mm metal figure of a Union cavalryman wearing a kepi brandishing a sword over his head-pretty normal boring "static toy Timpo" pose although the horse was at the gallop but with the usual dreadful paint finish.

Finished conversion-A bewhiskered Union general with sword now back in it's scabbard, redesigned suitable officer's saddle furniture and a complete repaint

But what to do with his remodelled sword arm?

How about lifting the flap of his personal saddlebag as he tries to locate his flask of whiskey or twist of tobacco!!!

Now looking at the pictures though that's quite a bush of face whiskers :D

Great stuff Reb.

You seem to be getting the hang of converting these metal figures and doing a mighty fine job of them if I may say so !!!!

Looking forward to the next conversion out of the stable :)

I like it. You don't need the USA or even US on the canteen. They were only marked with company letters and the company number of the man it was issued to. Possibly so a man could identify his own canteen after it was refilled in bunches by a file mate. Not sure what a General would have but this was before the US markings on canteens.
