I know North Africa is the subject of a great many suggestions, but I couldn't resist this one. Let's have a Churchill staff car! It's plausible:

1. Andy clearly has considerable respect for Winston Churchill, as evidenced by his recent post on Churchill's propensity to wear uniforms;
2. Andy is an astute business man and North Africa sells;
3. We've had two staff cars from the other side, and none from Winston's side (and the last one was fantastic).

Attached: "Tripoli Victory Parade: The Prime Minister passing through the main street in Tripoli, with the tanks of C Sqn, 4CLY in rear"

I suspect this will be the only suggestion I will ever make. The photo was to good not to post.

Is not the car behind non other than a captured Horch? I may be seeing things but it look very similar to me!:eek:

It would be nice to have a staff car from an Allied point of view. Except for Patton, it seems we get nothing but Nazi staff cars: Hitler, Himmler, Rommel and Heydrich (fortunately in the act of dying).

I guess it's because the allied staff cars don't sell as well as the German versions.

Personally I would prefer to see Monty's Humber Snipe or similar before any of Churchill's cars.

Any car with Churchill or Monty would suit me fine,how about their meeting after Alamein?

Rob

Put Field Marshall Smuts in the back with them. That would be good.

Yeah, I know I'm just whistling in the wind. Do like the Humber idea. Hope someone is watching ;)

Hi Guys,

I been reading the forum now for a while, and this thread sparked my interest enough for me to place my first post.

Another alternative to the "Churchill or Montgomery Staff Car" suggestion would be the Canadian produced Ford C11AD used by Field Marshall Alexander in North Africa.
This particular vehicle still survives today as part of the permanent collection of the Canadian War Museum in Ottawa.

I've attached a photo of the vehicle during the war parading Churchill and Alexander and a photo of it as it exists today. It's truly a historic piece and not looking bad after 65+ years.

Hi Guys,

Great minds think alike… It’s already in the works… complete with Monty… General Alan Brooke and Winston in fine fighting form!

I don’t usually let the ‘cat out of the bag’ but, just in case, I get accused of copying someone else’s idea. So there you have it… No release date yet but will be announced later.

Best wishes… pip, pip, cheerio and… happy collecting!

Outstanding Andy!

OzDigger's Monty Humber Snipe idea & Wayne's Alexander's Ford idea - fantastic. Anyone got a good picture of Monty's Snipe?

Still waiting apparently:(

Still waiting apparently:(

Maybe next month:), after all they did just release the new EA stuff and didn't retire much commonwealth stuff. I think I need to get on the ball and order the older EA sets I want because when the Churchill/Monty set is released I'm pretty sure Andy will retire a few of these sets shortly afterwards... or it could be part of his ploy to get me to rush out there and buy more stuff:eek:! Thankfully I'm covered for this months retirements so here's hoping Monty shows up this fall:).
