From several forum members I received the same question:"How do you get rid of the figure base on a cobblestone road. A lot of you think that I simply cut the base off of the figure. This is not the case -very seldom I do.
I will explain how I work and I'll give you an example( see the pictures)
1.I use a sheet of cobblestone road from Verlinden production ( ref 20022) or laser cut sidewalks and roads from "Reality in scale"
2.I mark the base of the figure on the plastic sheet with a pigment liner
3.I position the feet on the exact spot they have to be and with the exact measurements ( this needs exact measuring)
4.I cut out the feet from the plastic cobblestone road
5.I slip the sheet over the feet of the figure
6.I fill up and camouflage the cuts and gaps with liquid plastic ( plastic sprue and other bits and pieces melted in aceton)
7.To support the cobblestone road I fill up the gap between the plastic sheet and the base of my dio with a universal filler( also serves as a support for any vehicle that will be placed on it)
Hope this will take away a lot of your questions
