I know this has been covered ad nauseam, but I couldn't find my answer with the search engine. Can First Legion be displayed with Figarti or Honour Bound, scale-wise? I know; I apologize in advance for this question.

Assuming you are talking about just WW2 figures, Frank's photos show the large difference between FL which are 1:30 and K&C which are more like 1:28. Both companies figure size has been consistent over time. Figarti figures started at 1:32 and have over time increased to match the size of K&C figures but not as full figured. HB figures started at a skinny 1:30 and have come to match the size of K&C but also not as full figured.

So the answer I go by is FL and K&C figures do not go together. Figarti and HB figures may go with FL figures for size depending on when they were made - the older the figure the more likely yes.

I'm putting King & Country, Black Hawk and First Legion Crusades figures together in my diorama and they blend together just fine. I'm 5' 10'' tall and I weigh 185 lbs. When I'm standing with my brother-in-law, who is 5" 6" and weighs 200 lbs. and my nephew, who is 6' 4' and weighs 235 lbs. there is a far greater variance in size and shape between the three of us than there is between any two of my Crusades figures from different manufacturers. It wouldn't be very realistic, if every figure in a diorama was the same exact size and shape.

I'm also including some Conte Collectables and a few Del Prado in the mix.

Dave,
From my perspective, absolutely yes with Crusaders, no on WWII. My first FL WWII purchase has been the MG team-it's EXCELLENT, but IMO FL is not close enough in scale for display with other figs (KC, CS, TG etc....)-but great figs. Don't know about the vehicles (really want the winter Panzer III and Arty piece), hopefully someone can chime in.

As for AFVs, the FL vehicles are exactly 1:30 as are the HB AFVs. The older K&C vehicles and Figarti AFVs were 1:32 scale, even though the K&C AFVs were called 1:30. The more recent K&C and Figarti AFVs are 1:30. So just like with the WW2 figures, there is no foolproof answer.

I had no idea the FL and K&C Crusaders were similar in size. I just assumed the FL Crusaders were 1:30 and the K&C Crusaders were larger. How similar in size are they?

I was just considering the HB Afrika Korps minesweeping team to precede my new DAK armored car, but it doesn't sound like they'll work. Thanks for the info, guys.

Terry, I have three of the First Legion Crusades figures so far and they actually appear to be just a tiny fraction larger than my King & Country Crusades figures, but so close in size that the difference is quite negligeable. In my opinion, they blend together just fine. I personally feel that, in general, my First Legion figures are slightly more detailed and realistic than most of my King & Country figures.

I would have to agree with Terry...First Legion WWII soldiers do not go well with other manufacturers in terms of scale....First Legion is accurate 1:30....Other manufactuers are likely 1:28.....but more importantly to me they don't go well together in style.......Ultimate realism in paint and sculpts with First Legion for WWII ; I don't mix'em; especially if setting up a diorama.....

I would say the same thing for Civil War. FL is more 54mm (which is fine with me) than K & C but the style is completely different.

I'm very grateful to FL for being unique, and for two reasons. First, it limits my consumption to their own releases. They may be expensive, but the releases come slowly and steadily compared to other manufacturers. Second, I wouldn't even be collecting matte figures if First Legion hadn't had its unique, extremely realistic look. Most matte manufacturers figures, IMHO, come off looking cartoonish, to say the least. First Legion's WWII figures in diorama look like you're viewing photos from the front. Thank you, Matt, for these wonderful figures.:salute::

Terry, I'll try to post a few pics this weekend-I'm very comfortable placing FL/KC Crusader figures together.

Even if they're similar in size aren't they stylistically different, i.e, FL more muted colors vs K & C brighter colors, not to mention sculpting differences.

It may be a bad look in a scenario, but I am getting sample figures so I mix anyway. I tend to be bothered more by big differences in size rather than sculpting or colour differences

Without meaning anything but a sincere understanding of measuring parameters, how are you concluding that they are 54mm? The ones I saw seemed to be the size of their Napoleonics. Are you using the "to the eyes" convention?

YOU get it...Size is not the point ....:salute::

The K&C Scale is 1/30--(2-1 1/2 Inches Height)------The CS Scale is (2-1/2 Inches Height----I don't know what First Legion Scale is, but some one mentioned it is 1/32 Inches Height?--------1/25 Scale is 60MM-(2-3/4 )Inches Height-----70MM- is 1/28 Scale is 3"- Inches Height!
