Exactly......a semi revetment that helps protect the aircraft inside as well as protecting other aircraft around it. It also gives the diorama a different dimension opposed to a flat open field. With the additional pieces I'll be adding, I'm hoping it will tie everything nicely together.

The work on the wood plank hardstand is almost complete. I'll use a very fine tipped marker to simulate nails in the wood planks, and then add small traces of wash to simulate rust effects around the nail holes.

The wood is made of bamboo I purchased on Temu. Once cut to length, I used 80 grit sandpaper and a wire brush to give it a rough exterior. I then used a razor blade and scribing tool to give each piece a nice worn wood effect. I then used a mixture of enamel wash, oil paint, a small amount of pigments, and diluted it with white spirits. This was then brushed onto the wood with some areas being more concentrated than others.....being careful not to completely cover the natural wood underneath. I am pleased with how it turned out.
