Another WWII line for 2011 (1 Viewer)

Whatever they do they do it BIG , and stay there till its done right . I'm very glad they don't leave me hanging and hoping they will revisit a collection I'm committed to , that would suck . Of course that's just one of the many reasons my money and time are being spent here .

Totally agree...First Legion does it right;)

Noah ,
I learned a phrase the other day " even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while " I think that would apply here :D
I understand what you are saying about spreading yourself too thin , I'm dying to see what new lines First Legion will roll out in the new year . I'm both excited and scared at the same time  as there is still so much I need to purchase with current lines .
I'm still fighting in the Barrikady and there are still years worth of things to produce to keep me interested :D . Although I can fully understand why collectors of other fronts are dying for them to move west .

Well put. And, as you mentioned earlier, the research FL does is top notch. That fact, combined with thier committment to a range once it is started, is part of why they are number one in my book.

Maybe my fear of too many ranges going at once it is a lingering thing from previous experiences. You know what I mean, when some company starts a series, then you don't see anything for that series for a year or two. Not everyone does that, nor does it happen all the time. But it has occured in my collecting enough to be something I dread.

Of course, First Legion's release schedule has been nothing like that, on any of their ranges. In fact, I find thier pace of new releases just about perfect.

Totally agree with this point; Stalingrad has a lot more potential yet to be tapped, finish that battle first, continue with the flagship range, Napoleonics, and keep adding Crusaders and all will be well...............

I agree as well (Vezzolf). I also think to expand upon Warrior's point, they add Romans to the mix :)

I think other lines being released in the future including more WWII ones are a certainty. In this economic environment the question should be, "can they afford not to release other lines?" I know they do a great and indepth job with their ranges however they are a premium over other toy soldier choices, and have few lines which really limits their customer base in an already small market. Seems to me as a business you'd want quality ( they've got it ) and quantity ( not there yet ) to ensure a viable, long term business model. I'm sure many existing FL collectors and future potential customers are drooling over the prospects of other ranges from many different era's done in that high quality FL style.

So you want us to do Romans and, on the assumption we do them up to our quality, we can count you in? Just wondering.....?:p

You provide a list of what the figures are doing, I will cut a check for a $500 preorder to your distributor. After all, I need them doing something besides marching or copping a squat against the woodline. :)

I'm in for romans too !

Now let's go back to surfing FL website... I have a gift certificate to spend !

D@mn, i guess we should cancel the "Legionnairre seated below woodline" figure. :D

Seriously, though, if (when?) we do a range of Romans, we'll probably focus on fighting figures at first. I know that's what I'd want first and foremost.

I guess the reason I responded to your initial post is to guage just how big an interest there is out there for Romans. Very few companies do current, comprehensive ranges of them and it makes one wonder if there is a reason for that...Many people seem to talk about wanting them, but the level of talk often fails to directly correspond with the level of sales...

We'll turn to antiquity at some point, but what do folks like most - Romans, Greeks, Trojans, else? Someone should put a poll up for this...

Stalingrad and North Africa have so much still to offer I would not like FL to dilute its WWII range by diverting into other theatres. It nice to have a model figure manufacturer willing to give themselves the time to develop a range in depth. In Stalingrad we hav'nt even got the Operation Uranus yet!

I know this will sound odd coming from Mr WW2, but I think FL should do other series apart from WW2 and Naps, there are so many eras FL could explore and execute very well, variety is the spice and all that after all:cool:.

Does anyone know if FL will do other ACW Battles or just Gettysburg?.
