Hi Guys,

Just a few lines to reply on a couple of Forum points:

1. “Is Market Garden Done?”
Well, if it is… nobody’s told me yet!! No, no, no definitely not done. In fact we’re adding more later this year… including I hope… a brand-new jeep. So fear not.

2. “Did Col. Frost really blow a hunting horn?”
Most certainly he did… it’s not a Hollywood myth…The real John Frost was one of the advisers on “A Bridge Too Far”, the movie. There’s no way he would have allowed something so personal as that happen on film if it had not happened in real life!

3. “More KINGSX figures?”
Yes, we will be releasing two more very shortly… Another very nice US Cavalry officer and… a Texas Ranger.

4. “BBC Docudramas”
I’ve got a whole bunch of them and they are really excellent… with first-class production values and first-rate reenactment and CGI effects.
Having said that “Behind Closed Doors” is pretty good but others like “AUSCHWITZ” and “DUNKIRK” are really superb! And they are great for reference material.

5. “Boats, Boats, Boats”
At present in addition to the recently launched LCA (Landing Craft Assault) we are working on an LCT (Landing Craft Tank). Re the KCUK balsa and card models. As far as I know Mike of K&C UK had a guy in Wales make them. I’ve got my own set of 3 and seeing their LCA did “inspire” us at K&C HQ to have a crack at it. They really are nice little models.
As I’ve written before we are also working on the “SAN PUEBLO” plus another US Navy craft and a couple of other nice little Nautical projects… Watch this space!

6. “Britains Hitting The Road”
Nothing to do with K&C… but I truly applaud Rick and Ken going out to meet ‘n’ greet the collectors. I know all of us feel similarly that one of the great things about this hobby (and business) is the “personal touch”. So, whoever is near any of their venues make an effort to go along and say hello. It will be well worth it!

That’s all for now Folks!
Best wishes and happy collecting!

Wow! LCT is dream come true. An LCM 3 will be great complement to the LCT.

Andy:

Additionally, it would be nice if the LCM3 and LCT will have retractable ramps. Conte did a nice retractable mechanism on their LCM 3 and LCVP (I am glad I missed those coz they are 1/32) The LCM3 and the LCT are worth the wait.

These are all waterline right? A full keel model is not pratical for a diorama beach scene.

Thanks a bunch

Andy:

Always nice hearing from you, and seeing that you are keeping an eye on

us here at the Forum!:D Glad you are doing additional KingsX figures and

keeping Arnhem up and running! I'm not going to comment on the Warf and

new craft......I'll let my wallet speak for me!:D

Wow an LCT!:):).Fantastic news, thanks Andy. And great news also re Arnhem, looking forward to that jeep.Right. i've got to get all the D Day stuff before September and the Arnhem reinforcements!:)

Rob

I just hope all the current arnhem isn't retired before I get a chance to afford it all!!

Dave

Well things just get better and better don't they!:).First we get an LCA and some excellent British Army D day sets. Then we hear there are Canadians coming next month, and now we will also be getting a LCT in the future, now what could we put in the LCT?!!;)

And on top of that we hear Arnhem is being reinforced later in the year, this is going to be a bumper second half of the year.Sure is a good time to be collecting WW2 Brits and Commonwealth.:)

Rob

Yes but there are only so many organs in your body that you can sell to afford it all :)

And thats the thing I want it ALL!!

Thanks Andy for the replies.I remember this particular of the "Advisers", i think Colonel Vandeleur , played by the Great Michael Caine , was an adviser too and so Urquhart (i hope i wrote it well). The docudrama are my favourite genre (lastly i've seen the one on the Somme and another always on the Somme and even better than the BBc one , by Channel 4).Returning on Market Garden, we touched the Market but not the Garden..why not a figure of Horrocks?Or Vandeleur?:)By the way it's great to have an answer to our little questions, and i know Andy will have great things in store for us!

The Dunkirk drama that Andy referred to is excellent. I can't recommend it too highly. You can get it here in the US as part of BBC's History of WW II, which nobody interested in WW II should be without. It is an amazing 10 DVD set and worth watching repeatedly.

WOW, Andy! An LCT in K&C scale? I'd have to add a wing to my house to put it in, but what a model that will be! You might have just stolen some of the "shock and awe" from another miniatures provider. I'm curious about the five Shermans to put in it - PM me if you need any research assistance.

I will be interested to see this ship in person. This is a diorama waiting to happen on its own.

An LCT was over 43 meters long, in 1/30 scale that would be nearly 1,5 meter long! That's about 5 foot long!
:cool::cool::cool:

That's a big baby indeed...
:D

Cheers...

Not to get to far off topic, but the movie dunkirk with john mills & richard attenborough is great to.

Yea, even the Mk V is about 36. That will be great if K&C makes such a gigantic masterpiece, but I think it is really going to be a LCM that will hold one tank.
