Any Breaking Bad fans here?? (1 Viewer)

AMC just reran BB in a marathon that ended last night. Sat down to watch an episode or two for old times sake, but got hooked on it all over again and ended up watching the whole thing. What a terrific show. I just sat there completely immersed in it, and found myself sorry when it ended. Story telling at it's absolute best. -- Al

Totally agree Al, one of the best series ever ..... next to Fargo that is! :wink2:^&grin

It is on Netflix with a much better picture than AMC. I haven't watched it. I don't go in for
entertainment about drug dysfunctionals much.

Five Seasons Commercial free on Netflix:

That was my line of think when it originally aired and I avoided it like the plague, then a couple years after the series had ended my wife and I watched it on "On Demand" and loved it ..... thoroughly entertaining with top notch acting from top to bottom.

I agree that Netflix has a better picture and no interruptions but sometimes it's fun just to watch it on over the air TV.

I don't sit in front of the television that much.

Guess you're not watching much Netflix either.

Not really................especially during the Holidays. Too much going on. I'm
doing good to watch television more than three to four hours a day. Last night
I did finish the last episode Close to the Enemy on AcornTV. Took me several weeks
to finish the seven episodes of that.

True, not a lot of time. I recently finished watching Braquo on Hulu. An excellent series in my opinion. Season 4, supposedly the last season, was shown in Europe this fall. Hopefully, it comes to the US sometime next year.

What did you think of Close to the enemy ?

Funny to read this as I did the same thing; watched a few episodes and bang, it pulled me right back in and I watched the whole thing again.

One of the greatest endings to any show ever; Walter White had it all, he was the meth king of the southwest, had 80 million dollars, then he lost it all, specifically his family, they hated him at the end.

Jesse too; had five million dollars, could have gone away and had a new life elsewhere, but he lost it all.

Mike had all that money, tried to give it to his grand daughter, no dice, he died in the end.

And the gang at the end, the true definition of having it all, but it's never enough; they had most of Walt's money, they could have retired and gone away, but nope, they still wanted to deal drugs, how much money is enough?

Every main character in the series either died or could have had it all but ended up with a lousy lot in life...............................amazing show...................

Greek tragedy. Or on par with Shakespeare's tragedies. Ambition, greed, and all of our vices, and how we follow them to ruin, even if our virtues are present. The old story of Humanity...

Watching Walter White's decent from sympathetic victim of disease to a monster that will do anything to maintain his business is one of TV's finest moments in terms of writing and acting. -- Al

Season 4 is now available on Hulu. Will be watching as soon as I finish watching the Swedish version of The Bridge, which is a terrific series. I highly recommend it.

I recommend the DVD set, to anyone interested in the series. The extra materials included on the DVDs are worth it. The alternate endings are entertaining, too.

Prost!

Awakening an old thread just to say that the new spin-off film, El Camino, is very well done and totally within the spirit of the series. It is a film that wraps up the loose thread of what happened to Jesse after Walter dies. Well worth watching. -- Al

Al...

loved El Camino...
but Better Call Saul stole the show...

season 5 starts in a couple of weeks...
but I'm still waiting for Netflix to show Season 4...
should be any day now...
