I've been looking for any information on the upcoming A7V release, if anyone has any info it would be much appreciated. From the photo's posted earlier I'm hooked, I've always been fascinated with the A7V. I'm well aware of the History, including the development and actual use of the few A7V's made having had the Hundlebly/Strasheim book since the early 90's.

I'm really dying to see a photo of the finished work from Jenkins, with full crew.

Would anyone else be interested in a Jenkins version of a captured British Mark IV, A so called Beutepanzer being used in German service? It would be easy to do as some were only painted with Maltese crosses and sent into action. There could be two, one in British camo painted with Maltese crosses and one version fully repainted with German camo and markings.

Really excited to see the Jenkins A7V. regards Gebhard

For other readers who may be unfamiliar with Jenkins' A7V project, here are the visuals that we have thus far:

I really like the idea of opening up a vehicle like this so as to display some of the crew-stations. We don't see this very frequently in TS-vehicles, even in the three and four-hundred dollar sets from the "gucci manufacturers." It's time for this to change, IMO.

Thanks for posting, Gebs,

Hi Moe,
Thanks for re-posting the those shots. I also like the idea of having the possibility of opening up a vehicle. I do hope the hatches will be functional, which is possible. It would be really nice to have it fully crewed and buttoned up and also be able to open the hatches and expose the crew. Really looking forward to this one, hoping maybe a completed version will be on display in Chicago. regards Gebhard

Hi Gebhard,

The prototype A7V was on show at the Grey Goose Collectables stand at the June LTSS. I had time to have a good look at it. Just an amazing piece of work. From memory,
the main armament and machine guns swivel (some lovely interior detailing on these.) Rear lower side flaps lift up and down (as in photo's.) One side door open and closes
and obviously the main top hatches lift off. Apparently there will be a full crew to accompany it. Clive (Grey Goose) thought at the time that it would possibly be released around August/September (ish)

When it is released some very lucky person stands to win one free! (see photo)

Cheers,

Roy

Hi Roy,

Thanks for posting those photo's, I remember seeing those and that's what got me started. Seeing those again has got me even more excited about seeing the finished version. Thanks for sharing the information about the details you have, it really is helpful. Unfortunately I didn't win, but what a very nice contest and prize to be sure. From the size of that beast and the size of the crew needed with the touch of the interior details, its gonna be incredible. I just gotta have it, price be ****ed. Thanks again .. regards Gebhard

A tank that is definitely on my wish list. what a beauty!!!
I hope to see him at the London show in color, or maybe this month at the Forum!!

Hi All,
Quick update. I have recently sent the London show prototype back to John as he wanted to have a go at different paint schemes to see which he likes best.
It's likely therefore that release won't be until mid/late October.
By the way the competition is still running as to guessing the weight of the production model. ..Not the actual production model more John's production model.
Had to clarify 'cause someone who will remain nameless quoted 22 tons, maybe he meant kilos!!

Regards
Clive

A couple of pics from the Grey Goose Collectables stand at todays LTSS.

The Mephisto really is a beauty. Mine arrived yesterday but was whisked away by my wife to be wrapped up and NOT to be opened until December 25th (Her Christmas present to me!)

Mine isn't here yet but, like you, when it does get here it will be taken by my wife and then given back to me on Christmas Eve . . . . . . Looks great . . . . .

My A7V arrived here yesterday upon which my wife took it to wrap and said I could have it on Christmas. She wouldn't even let me open the box up to let me take a peek at it. I know what I will be looking forward to on Christmas Day . . . . .
:smile2: Mike

I have my fingers crossed hoping mine will arrive soon, **** mail service
