Any Interest in New Warbirds? (1 Viewer)

Louis,

Since you already have one of Motion's planes what is your thought as comapred to K&C planes? Is there much difference in finish, fit or quality? Are you satisfied with the product as a K&C collector?

Bill

PS I'm jumping on it!!!!

The quality is very similar. The finish, however, unless you request otherwise, is glossy, whereas the later King & Country planes came with a matt finish (the early planes were often glossy). The biggest difference is that the K&C planes came with gear down and full bombs, rockets, drop tanks, whereas you have to pay extra for the features with Motion models.

I have two others that size, the Horsa Glider and the Junkers JU52. They are kind of hard to display, but really impressive. Andy also made a B52, B29 Superfortress, Avro Lancaster, B24 Liberator, C47 Dakota and PBY Catalina among the big birds.

Having this thread to blame, I have been scanning the interent looking at wooden planes which I haven't ever noticed before. There are many internet dealers that actually sell these wooden planes like Models in Motion have. Although, I can't tell if its all from the same manufacturer. The only problem is, as Louis mentioned before, they typically don't have landing gear down which is the plus from K&C. Despite this I am giving thought to collecting a few of these. I still hope Andy considers revisiting the warbird line. Bill any success or feedback from Motion?

I had 28 of my Warbirds on display at my apartment Friday night for the Mini-symposium, 13 of them on one library table surrounding all of the aircraft related figures and vehicles, and they were the center of attention out of my entire collection. They really are something special, and I hope something comes out of all the interest in them on this forum.
