I see the release date has been changed to the fall 2017. Plus the 88mm is still nowhere in sight, for me Britains have lost it, they have become a bit part TS company, everyone else tells people what they making, when it will be released and delivered and it is delivered. I am getting fed up of waiting, I left the club because the club figure [and the London event figure] was so late I always used to forget I had ordered it! Plus the club figures were being sold cheaper at the London shows to anyone....... I see elsewhere on the forum someone has highlighted a new picture of the 88mm gun, this says it all about the state of Britains, the K & C, J & J and Thomas Gunn new threads are about the new sets they have released, whereas Britains is about another picture............. we collect toy soldiers not pictures.

I only collect War of the Nile and Clash of Empire, with the occasional His of the Brit Army, but this range has gone too expensive for the quality. I have bought nothing for around 18 months from Britains, the new Clash of Empire does not appeal, as for the price and quality I would rather get the J Jenkins sets, no War of the Nile and there is nothing else that appeals, used to collect Zulus, but got fed up with them about 2 years ago and sold them, I had 1400 [including some Conte], but the range just so bland.

Something else needs sorting out as well, the Authorized dealer list, it is misleading and out of date no service, as the one around the south west of England [apart from Magpies] are just terrible, I called in a few on my travels, I like to cycle, but one has 4 clamshell packs, while another has 8 clamshell pieces in stock. The shop advertised as the largest Britains dealer in Wales has, by my rough calculation, £1250 worth of stock if you were to buy it all and this included two Zulu ambulances............. these are not dealers.

Enough of a rant from me, but glad to get it off my chest.

May sell my Nile Boat

I agree that the release dates being pushed back can be frustrating, but The War Along the Nile topic has been of great interest to me since I was a kid.
I was very surprised that Britains started the line and has put the time and investment it has into it. The same goes for the Zulu War line.
If I have to wait for great figures at a good price then I will.
And come on Wally you can't sell the Nile Gunboat, it is one of the greatest releases ever!

JJD are releasing this month a Gatling gun and sailor from this era, would look good on the Nile Gun boat. Robin.

Don't sell the Nile gun boat, I use mine with LL and Trophy figures :)

By the way a Gatling gun fits nicely in the bow :wink2:

Cheers

Martyn:)

I have the JJ Gatling and Gardener Guns and all the JJ crews and the William Britains Gatling Gun, they are in my other dioramas. I have bought more JJ sets in this era than W Britains.

The boat is nice but it is in the box in the storage room, so I am tempted.
