Today my Dad was laid to rest in Arlington National Cemetery with full Military honors. He never spoke much about WWII but he was a decorated combat veteran, and it was wonderful to see him treated with such honor and respect.

I want to encourage other Forum members to consider this honor for family members who have answered the call from our nation.

I will always remember the respect my country showed my Dad, and I know he would have been very proud.

The respect was earned. God bless your father and may he rest in peace.

I salute your father, my father, and all the other vets we owe so much to and cannot repay. RIP. -- Al

Although I don’t know you except from this forum please accept my condolences and appreciation for your father’s service.

My sentiments exactly. He and his follow Allied veterans gave us all our lives. We owe them everything.

John,

I can not put into words anything better than this posted by Louis as well as the thoughts of the other Forum Members thus far! I hope very much that you are at peace knowing your father is resting in one of the most sacred and honorable places I can think of. May time take care of you and your family.

All My Best,
Marc

I'm sorry for your loss John, grateful for his service and the respect our country has shown him.
