Here's to the memory of every British and allied Soldier who has given his life or been wounded in action in all Wars we have been involved in , our debt to you can never be repaid but our respect, admiration and appreciation will be ever lasting .

well said Rob, I always treasure the memories of my 2 Grandads around this time of year now they have both gone, I always went with my Grandad down to london, so he could march with the Worcesters on the Sunday & it gives me happy memories of him & his friends when I still see it continue today.

Here in the US, its Veterans Day, and I would like to extend a great big thank you to all the Allied veterans who fought, sacrificed, and sometimes made the ultimate sacrifice for all of us.

Attended local parade at the town's war memorial today. At the stroke of eleven maroons were fired and the whole town came to a halt. In the supermarket the staff stood by their tills, all customers stood in silence, in the streets movement ceased. Not for a long time have I seen such uniform understanding of the moment. Nice to know that respect is not entirely dead. Trooper

I was in York earlier today after getting the car MOT'd and at 11am all went silent. I was close to some WWII poppy sellers and, some uniformed army lads from the local regiment, one who had a row of medals as long as ones arm. Everyone fell silent apart from two guys shouting murderes at the troops for what they are doing in the middle east. The troops and WWII vets just kept their heads bowed and respected the silence.

I could not believe the police just stood and allowed these idiots to spoil this and, to boo's from the crowd and a few insults they moved on laughing and cheering!!!! I sometimes dispair of this country. I would jail these numpties, I really would

Was in my town centre for the memorial service at 11am today and was so pleased to see the town come to a complete halt and silence fall across everyone there. For all the bad things that happen in our country this day always gives me pride in our people and their respect for our fallen. I also want to give a shout out to Prince William for writing to the idiots at FIFA who didn't want our players to wear the Poppy this weekend against Spain, this absurd policy has been abandoned and our players will now show the pride and respect our whole nation has in our fallen when they play on rememberance Sunday.

I thought the UK folks might like this photo of my Uncle Ed in WW II.

Great pic Scott.

Today and Sunday we remember not only those who gave their lives or were wounded but everyone who took up arms on the right side and helped ensure victory. Your uncle's service will always be appreciated.

I agree about William and, could not believe the decision. Glad to see some sense
