Hello All,

I’ve been much ensconced in books & podcasts on Arnhem these past few days.

Such an iconic and much discussed battle in terms of tactics and outcomes.

It never stops being intriguing & fascinating.

Surely K&C have not departed this theatre?

I have many British Airborne in my collection, though I did miss out General Kussin’s car!

Hoping for some possible new releases?

I think Andy said there would be releases. I certainly hope there are.

Andy certainly did and I think they are close to release, unfortunately not in time to save Frost and his men. Robin.

What a great subject. I cant afford to dip into WW2 very much so love seeing everyones collection. I grew up on so many iconic WW2 movies in the 70’s and 80’s.

Seeing the new Roman sub-range, Blackhawk Down, non military releases like the Beatles, new WW2 civilians and the continued Christmas/Santa range [ making me want to buy a Santa figure every year with the imaginative designs] shows, for me, that K & C are still coming up with and releasing inspirational collectable Historical and Military figures and vehicles. The hobby has to move and try new things, not just churn out a narrow range of eras,wars, battles, etc.


Bridport, thanks for the question, i have picked up the new book, Arnhem: Black Tuesday: The Classic Battle Told As Never Before, by Al Murray. For those that do not know the author, he is a famous Comedian in the UK, but he has a passion for Military History and has a Modern History Degree from Oxford University. In 2004 he parachuted into Arnhem, as part of the commenorations. His maternal Grandfather was killed in action at the Battle of Dunkirk in 1940. There will be a new Then and Now Arnhem book out on the battle, from Pen and Sword, in Dec 2024.

Also the pace of modern life does not give the time, patience and "quiet" skills to study a Uniform, a Historical battle or a personality from History.

It did not always used to be this way.

I ask this question. What can we all do in the Industry and Hobby Fraternity to adapt our services and "offer" to our clients and customers?

What fresh NEW experiences and interests may we offer now? What can be done to encourage or re encourage the interest in our Hobby and the Industry that supports it?

I welcome a hearty debate on this subject, because it is the very life blood of our future Industry.

Below Our Modern society views our hobby as somehow "violent" and with suspicion, and tries to destroy it as some sort of a threat, like the firemen in the film Fahrenheit 451 who arrive to destroy History and Books. (image 1966 film version).

I have liked all K&C's releases this year, even though I bought very few. Andy has certainly been original and I prefer that to re-releases that degrade the value of old K&C. Andy has nothing to apologize for.
I never run to the Moderators. But I think some decorum is always welcome.

Meanwhile ....... can we respect the people who struggled 80 years ago.

I am not going to attempt to defend Andy as he does not need anyone to do so. He is why and how I got into this hobby and - I have had a lot of fun with it!
