A lull in the battle (and the wargame)

After 90 minutes of fight the Germans were pushed from the bridge. Wargaming is a social event; no wonder that the debriefing took place in the bar of the clubhouse :p
Frost was making further plans

arnhem 116.jpga cup of tea

For the paras a moment of relax with a smoke and ... of course, a cup of tea....

For the Germans: nur Wasser....

Outstanding, so much to take in, I've had to go back and see what I missed on my first glance at these scenes. Thanks for sharing and keep 'em coming.

The outcome of the battle:

It was a minor victory for the British paras. according to the scenario they had to hold both sides of the bridge for at least five turns. they succeeded to hold the area for 7 turns. Almost a major victory. The key for the major victory could have been those two jeeps under the bridge that saw no much action.
One of the rules of the scenario was that the paras couldn't leave their wounded comrades in the battle zone. They had to support and escort them to the "fiehospital", runned by Dutch nurses.

In that way a lot of potential firepower was lost by escorting the constant stream of wounded comrades. Indeed there were no ambulances dropped in the first waves...
The question is: "what if the jeeps were mobilised as transport for the wounded? Typical "what if" questions, made at the bar during the debriefing where nobody will have the answer:confused:
One final conclusion at the bar: Belgian beers are fine and it's good after more than 2 years COVID to organise again a special event with toy soldiers.

Hello,

I'm interested in knowing what manufacturer has this injured Panzer crewman seated in the front seat of the Sdkfz 7 as shown below. Does anyone know who makes this miniature please?

Thanks Robin for the set number. Love the layout. Very well done. They should bring the display to Australia.
