Asking Treefrog if its possible to have a ...... (1 Viewer)

Suggestions for new products for the toy soldier manufacturers to diversify their product lines:

Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens;
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens;
Brown paper packages tied up with strings;
These are a few of my favorite things.

Cream-colored ponies and crisp apple strudels;
Doorbells and sleigh bells and schnitzel with noodles;
Wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings;
These are a few of my favorite things.

Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes;
Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes;
Silver-white winters that melt into springs;
These are a few of my favorite things.

After all sometimes it does seem like a musical comedy:D

PB ! How COULD You ? :confused::rolleyes::D- I'd barely managed to ease the non stop replay of "The Stone Outside Dan Murphy's Door" -which so far as I'm aware J Coltrane never ...:eek:...graced-to the subliminal and now this? :D

:cool: Asking Treefrog, if its OK to gve us a Space /Slot, for Member's who want to Express Likes and Dislikes, of their Opinion's, on Toy Soldier Business, something like a "CRITIC'S CORNER"?

John not a bad idea.But we all just say things on everyday threads about likes and dislikes .Maybe a section on well done things dealers and toy soldier makers do .A positive section only for a change.Nothing but good things about what the dealers are doing and not a kick in the guts everytime they get it alittle wrong.Just a thought and keep up the posts John as I love reading them.Simmo.

Next suggestion :eek:

Crickey you could unleash the whirlwind with that line .
Their will be vehicle suggestions flowing thick and fast aswell as
shirtless Aussies doing all manner of things [ no offence to any
Aussies on the forum ,my wife is from the Lucky country
So I,m all for shirtless Aussies]

:D:D

I'd like to know where this desire for 'shirtless Aussies' originated?!;).Is it possible that this forum is populated by people pretending to be blokes collecting toy soldiers,who are in fact Australian women!:eek:;):D

Polar Bear's Hot Aussie Fashion Report:

I think this whole thing is Tamiya's fault. They started the "shirtless look" in the 70s with their 25 pounder. K&C's 25 pounder in contrast featured battle dress and shirts. Figarti did, of course, make its Pacific US jeep with a shirtless Marine further popularizing the buff look. Osprey's Elite "The Australian Army in World War II" does provide a a good idea of what John wants including one poor guy with no sleeves. And that gentlemen is the naked truth:D

Good one Randy.:D:D

I also agree with KV; it does seem to me that folks offer their criticism now in every manufacturer's forum.

Andy a few suggestions for 2009

With apologies to Rodgers & Hammerstein

Shirtless tan Aussies and more Desert Raiders;
Bedford Transports and Ramcke Brigaders;
Ten Gordon Highlanders dancing their flings;
These are a few of my favorite things.

It is either a 'Sticky bomb' (No. 74 AT grenade) or a maraca to form a conga line with his mates

I had to laugh when I read that ,if its going to be a conga line
we will require a figure wearing a hat covered in fruit .
It could also be a toffy apple [one of the ones with a soft floury
apples inside] that he is throwing away in disgust .

John

You are correct about the vickers--the guy throwing the sticky bomb is a Vickers machine gunner and the book says they usually did go shirtless. The Osprey also has photos showing the shirtless Aussies. Matchbox copied the Tamiya 25 pdr in 1/72nd scale with the shirtless gunners.

Rob,i love the sketch where the pepperpot is talking to her son like a baby when he is obviously in his mid forties;

'Ooooooh he's a lovely boy,do you like your rattle?.Can he speak,can he speak for mummy'

'Of course i can speak mother,i'm minister for overseas development'

'Ooooooh he's a clever little boy':D
