Hello MD,
Thank you very much for posting these fantastic custom made ATS figures.
The ATS website only shows their standard sets of Crimean War cavalry either standing or walking.
I look forward to the "action figures" that you have alluded to.
It would be nice to see ATS Crimean War cavalry charging or at least at canter sets for regular offer.
Best, Raymond.

Dave, the only "Pirate" I've seen out here so far, is when I take a shave in the morning.
Thanks for the response, it was in fact along the lines of what I expected. But especial thanks for the photo's. As you know, I'm a sort of dull, matte kinda guy. But those glossies are brilliant (pun intended). I've certainly got my "Thinking and Pondering" hat on at the moment.
We'll see what Jeff has to say once the UK wakes up at around 15:00 my time. Cos I'm +7 hours GMT.
Cheers Mate
Harry
Yes, it is possible Jeff has had a look at some of these in matte at the last London show and can better address the style compatibility issue for you. Take care.

Hi Harry and Dave.
I'm afraid it isn't! I can't remember seeing any in matt, sorry!- but then I was on more of a gloss mission.
Having seen the gloss versions and having the K&C range I would have to concur with Dave that due to the size difference and style, the ATS figures would have to go in the background of a dio.
Excellent figures though.
Jeff
As has been said before ATS's Crimean figures are part of their Lancer series which are all true 54mm. Nik's Napoleonics are slightly larger, comparable with Tradition and Little Legion. The conversions which were shown earlier were of this larger size. As for mixing and matching why not make a diorama from these figures on their own?
Sorry mate, if its been said before then I obviously missed it.
As for mixing and matching different manufacturers - that's easy enough to answer;
1/ I like doing it.
2/ It offers you more poses thus making the diorama more interesting.
3/ I already have a tidy old sum invested in K&CUK's Crimea range - which I like a lot. I'm only asking friends for their opinions as to whether they thought I could use ATS figures with the ones I already have.
4/ I've long been interested in ATS figures and am seriously considering taking the plunge although I haven't quite decided which one's yet. I'm particularly interested in their "Duchess of Richmond's Ball" range. So again, I'm only asking friends their opinions before I divert cash from my other main interests which are EoI and FL figures.
5/ I only collect Matte figures - although I appreciate the appeal of gloss figures as well. I was wondering if either Dave or Jeff had seen any of the Matte-finished ATS examples.
Cheers
H
Sorry MD, don't know how I missed that. D'oh! -- lancerHi Lancer, please see my response to Konrad for comment on this question.

That range looks really great Harry and one which I was looking at also.
I think so too. Planning on it some day.
Cheers,

I think they also have some type of coronation with carriages etc. Can't seem to find them on the site but they do have pics in the gallery. ANyone have any more info on this line up.
What, like this?
Jeff
Nice one Jeff. Right on cue, but it looks like they've run that poor fellow over.

Thanks Deitz, I will give them a call. -- lancerI am not sure if the Toy Soldier Shopp in Milwaukee is a distributor or not, but they had ATS Crimean Cal. and a few other figures. Sorry I forgot my camera.
Dave, looks like they both fell off the back due to being poked in the eye by the parasol!

This set is not of a coronation but part of a set showing the Trooping the Colour during the Napoleonic Wars. It depicts the Prince Regent arriving in his carriage escorted by Household Cavalry wearing the pre 1812 uniform on a parade ground where a complete company of Guards representing grenadier, light and centre companies complete with colours and wearing full dress are waiting to receive him. Nik had this complete set up with backdrop at one of the London shows a while back and it contained nearly 100 figures. Sadly I don't have a photograph of it but perhaps some other Frogger has and will post it.
