Amidst the rich farmland of the German countryside, Frau Marta Schmidt says a tearful goodbye to her husband Karl and her brother Hans Peter as they prepare to join the Kaiser's army massing in Belgium.

Randy, another classic mate, almost a painting type picture.....:smile2:
Wayne.

Nicely done, Randy! Reminds me of posters by the Munich printer Hohlwein.

Prost!

Thanks Wayne & Brad

I am familiar with Hohlwein and do admire his poster style.

Great scene, but half expected to see the grille at the edge of the photo of that roaming Taxi, surely he is needed in this situation, good fare to be had getting these boys up to the front line. Always something about your diorama's that no one else comes up with, cheers, Robin.

Another nice one Randy. I've been enjoying your posts lately.

Thank you all for your compliments. I loved the 3 WWI farewell sets the first time I saw them but somehow put them on the back burner. When they were retired recently I had to pursue them. They are perfect for telling the stories that supplement the history of warfare.
