That's the movie that got my hooked on reading Rudyard Kipling, who, along with George MacDonald Frasier are my two favorite authors. I loved the line "We're not gods, we're the next best thing: Englishmen!" Having a Scotsman say was hysterical.
 
I Thought he was quite good in 'The Hill',i just don't think he's a great actor.There is sometimes i believe a big difference between a big star and a great actor.John Wayne for instance was a huge star but not the best actor in the world by any means.

Actually guys i was winding you up about Sean Connery,just having a laugh with you.But i'm afraid John wayne was a bad actor.Just look at some of his scenes in 'The Longest day'.Truly awful.

The Longest Day. That's a film about events not acting. Robert DeNiro wouldn't have been able to deliver Vandervoorts lines in that film and make it sound even remotely realistic!
 
I Will look out for it James,its on TCM fairly often.Some good films on there by the way,does anyone else enjoy ' The Red Badge of courage' ? I don't know why excactly but i really like that film.

That Mr Wayne was a superb actor wasn't he.;)
