Yo Troopers, about 25 years back a friend of mine brought me a book in work, and said read this. I still dont know why he brought it in for me to read, but tell you what guys its a book that everyone should read. I went home and started to read it, it was written by a Jewish/German Doctor who was kept alive because of his medical skills and made to work in Austwhich, and survived to tell his story, couldn't put the book down until I finished it. If anyone knows the Doctor's name who told the story, I would like to get a copy if I could.
Bernard.

"LEST WE FORGET"

After some googling I found: A Jewish doctor in Auschwitz - The Testimony of Sima Vaisman. Is that the book you were talking about?

Yo oz, no thats not the book. Anyway found the right book its " AUSCHWITZ A DOCTOR'S EYE WITNESS ACCOUNT" The Doctor's name is Miklos Nyiszli, he was a top Patholgist. Dr Mengele was so impressed with this guy he made him the main research pathologist for Auschwitz, but he was never aloud out of the gas Chamber compound in 3 years he was forced to work there, man its one horror story, but one everyone should read, because he was the only guy who actually worked in the gas chambers, so you know his account is spot on.
Bernard.

No worries, I'm afflicted with a curious mind and can't resist tracking down information, useless or otherwise.

For example my son and his mates have recently started building a peddle powered vehicle for a race between rival schools in the district. I enjoyed making billycarts as a kid and it reminded me of an old movie I watched way back about kids racing billycarts in England. But all I could remember was that one of the gang was called the 'Battersea Bats'. After some googling I tracked down the movie which was called 'Soap Box Derby' that was made in 1958 and had a young Michael Crawford in it. Can't say I remember him in it, I wonder if it's out on dvd yet ;)

LOL, he is one clever guy. My favourite is the electronic house episode where he falls into the toilet, I still don't know how he didn't get hurt doing it.
