That is one nasty creature.

How does a man defend himself against a monster like that and survive?

Obvious misinterpretation of the photo, gents. This Croc is just making sure the pig reaches the other side of the road safely, a sort of civic duty. :D -- lancer

I don't how anybody can walk around Australia without a weapon.

Those wild pigs are scary in there own right i know a guy who walked in to the bush with 3 pittbulls one dog was killed and the other two came out ok.
but that pig no match for the croc.

Are the wild pigs native or were they introduced by man.

That is an amzing picture.

When I was 12 years old, I lived in Derby in the North West of Australia. It's mear Broome, which is a great place to visist. Derby isn't. There were some serious floods in the region (the Kimberley), and a lot of cattle were drowned. My father took me to the outlet of one of the rivers, which had brought a lot of dead cattle from inland. The size of the crocodiles there is something I will not forget. All my childhood ideas about dinosaurs were confirmed. Actually, the look on my father's face is something I will not forget. These were some seriously big animals. The only thing I have seen like it is the crocodiles in East Africa during the wildebeast migration.

Amazing.

Is it a common occurrence to see them crossing the road? Is this just limited to very rural areas?

only some outback roads that might run close to a river....just stop your car and let it pass.
no need to get out and take pics :p:eek:
