Looks like his Marines will be available shortly. I just emailed him asking for ordering instructions. I,ll post the info when I get it.
He will have Japanese prtotypes at OTSN.

Will he have some USMC for sale at OTSN? It looks like I may get to Chicago Thurs PM so will plan a room thru of the room trading on Friday. So far I will look for the Austin USMC and the new TSSD four-man German set - any other new plastics to check out?

Gary B.

Yes he will have the Marines for sale at OTSN. GB, you might want to buy an extra bag if you see some conversion possibilities!
Gary

Only ONE extra??? Oh come now. I want at least three bags (given the usual rate of two of each to the bag - more if that's not the case)

I see another Platoon I'll have to paint. Anxious to see the Japanese. Anyone recall the Matchbox 1/76 Japanese? Best I have seen in that scale. Would hope to see some quality .Anxious to see!
It's been years since I set up my Pacific collection.

I'm very anxious to see, and buy, the Marines. I'm also excited about the upcoming Japanese. But please, Mr. Austin, don't make them tall! Even the Marx figures came about 4 to 6 inches taller than one would expect to find in real life.

Received my set of Austin Marines and I must say that they are very well done. I'm looking forward to painting these and whatever else they release. The second series Marines and Japs should be next in line.

Does anyone know - will Austin be at the Chicago show? Who else will have these for sale at Chicago?

Gary B.

I can,t remember if he (Austin) or I read somewhere that yes they will be at OTSN
Gary

I would love to see some pictures! Maybe some comparison shots wit the TSSD ones too?

Shows 8 figs. Says come in sets of 12 x 2 each of six poses. Maybe there are another 4 they are not showing us yet.You guyz going to OTSN might get a glimpse and maybe some test shots of the Japanese .
New figures always lead to another dose of enthusiasm for me to add new figures to a collection. I haven't had my Pacific collection on the table in 6-7 years.pacific1.jpgpacific2.jpgpacific3.jpg

I painted all the Pacific bunkers from TSSD , built a few Tamiya Japanese tanks, never used them!

I took two not so great pictures of the Series 1 Austin Marines. I can't figure out how to upload them to this site but
will email or text them to anyone who is interested. Maybe you can post them instead. I could always take a few more better pics. Just send me a pm with the information. Bill

Hopefully these pics loaded. Bill

I'm pretty impressed with the pics of the new marines from Austin. I wonder if the same sculptor (Mr. Ortiz) that did many of the Conte figs did these? I don't think Ken Osen did them. Both are certainly talented sculptors. The sense of motion and non-static poses are great. Lots of possibilities. I look forward to seeing the emperor's finest showing up, too! Thanks for posting the pics of your new set...{sm4}

These new figures look excellent. Very good selection of poses, nice animation, I would lilke to see the Japanese also.

Walt

I believe my dear friend and fellow TF member Doug Dearth did the sculpting on these.

Will there be any Japanese weapons teams, like a heavy mg team?
