Just to round out this latest batch of pre-orders, we are pleased to present the next release in our American Revolution figure range, the Grenadier Company of the British 5th Regiment of Foot! This company was present at both at Lexington-Concord and Bunker Hill in 1775 and is the perfect complement to our release of the Continental Militia. They are perfectly suited, and specifically designed, to represent the orderly ranks of British making the fateful march with destiny up the slopes of Bunker Hill. We've portrayed them here with plenty of casualities and wounded showing the repeated efforts that were made in the attempt to take the Continental redoubt. Though designed with Bunker Hill in mind, these figures are also very suitable for the march to/front Lexington-Concord where they were harried incessantly by the Continental Militia. The 5th Regiment of Foot also took part in the battles around New York and Long Island in 1776, as well as Brandywine Creek and Monmouth Court House before leaving the continent in 1778. These figures will make an excellent addition to any serious American Revolution toy soldier collection!

Matt-
These Grenadiers look outstanding! As you well know, I have been looking forward to this release and I have to say, these are well worth the wait. While going through the pics, I noticed a new pose that you must have added since the intial promo pics. Is AWI026, the British 5th Foot Grenadier Company Officer, a pose you added to the line up recently? I don't see it in the group shot from a couple of months back.

Anyway, this is superb release in my opinion. Can't wait to have the first ones in hand!

There is one that we added, but it's not that one. In the group shot, the Grenadier company officer is in the very front right. The one I added at the last minute is AWI039 the March Attack with bandaged head.

Glad to hear they were worth the wait for you!

Best,

Matt

Nevermind, I think I see it now. Seems in my excitment, I passed over it on the promo pic. Does look a slight bit different though...

Noah,
can you tell me a difference between AWI032 and AWI033?
Is it the face?
I know they did different faces on the marching Napoleonic "Old Guard".

Konrad-
Aside from the face you pointed out, the only other difference I can see is AWI033 has what appears to be a bandage around his head, under his bearskin.

Noah

Wow, that is so embarassing
I did not see that while looking at the pictures numerous times since last night.
Thanks, Noah.
Will have to pay more attention in the future.

Konrad-
Well, you aren't alone. I'm the one who couldn't see a figure on the promo pic that has been there all along! And that group pic has been my desktop background for a while.

I am new to the forum and have been collecting FL for about 18 months. I recieved my first 6 AWI british infantry today. i think they are really impressive and well worth the long wait especially like the mounted colonel and its in a new box. Its been a long 2 months since I pre ordered these.

Welcome to the forum Royal Welch. Great to hear you like your AWI British infantry. My first five of the 5th Regiment of Foot are supposed to be delivered this Wednesday. This is my very first FL purchase and I am anxious to see them "in hand" . . . .

Yes, welcome to the forum! Glad you decided to join in. You say you have been collecting FL for a while, so you must have another range besides the AWI you are collecting. Which one or ones is that?

As for the new grenadiers, I agree, they are really impressive. I picked up the grenadier officer and 5 marching poses. There is a lot to enjoy on these, but one of my favorite parts is the little details, things like the grenadier cap cords. A simple detail, but one that is well done.

Hi Fusilier and thanks for the welcome. I have been thinking about joining in the forum for some time and eventually took the plunge lastnight. My main collection is Napoleonics but also collect some WW2 and have a few ACW. I find FL very hard to resist.

Hello Royalwelch ,
Let me also take a moment to welcome you to the forum , glad to see you took the plunge . Did you say Napoleonic's :wink2: , I'm an unrepentant addict for First Legions Naps and I'm also nutz enough to be fighting a three front War , that is to say I'm also hooked on their Stalingrad and Crusader lines and with the thought of two or maybe more new lines coming this year I'm starting to get a little nervous  . Well I'm looking forward to you sharing your thoughts about all things First Legion . Happy collecting Gebhard

Hello Gebhard and thanks for the welcome.Yes I did say Napoleonics they are my main collection both battles Waterloo and Borodino so I ll have a dilema later on this year with the prospect of another battle coming up. As for the Stalingrad range I think the AFV are excellent and the figurse too.
the crusaders are very tempting, might just gett the Hospitallers.Being a big Naps fan I found the British AWi to good not to get, they have used a green paint for the shading on their breeches which goes really well with their green facings its well worth just getting one figure for a look. As I know very little of this period but plan to read up on it when I get time.

Hello Iwan,
" prospect of another battle coming up " I haven't even thought about such things.. WOW . That would also be trouble for me , I sure hope if a new Battle were to take shape that it would be Leipzig just so many of my favorites were there or a much earlier Battle would also be of great interest to me .
Great insight into the painting of the British AWI figures , they are very very nicely done and tempting to say the least . I just don't have the space or funds to collect everything :mad:but I can see myself getting one or two figures just as an example or small study of the uniforms . Regards Gebhard

Iwan, you made me go back and look specifically at the shading on the breeches and you are right. The color is perfect and it does go really well with the coat facings. Good eye, sir.
