Hello There! As mentioned before there are many new poses to round out the existing units represented including new loading, firing and advancing figures. We have also introduced a new British unit and a new flag. We are trying to flesh out the various units introduced before moving on to other subjects...and we have a long list too! It is still about 4 weeks untill we wrap up the new catalog and we can release images.
Although I have asked for input from time to time it has been a while since we asked for requests for this period, so what what you like to see in future releases?
All the best, Ken
I would like to see more from the beginning of the War.
1775 and 76 in particular.
A Battle of Bunker Hill diaroma set similar to the Yorktown one.
Something from the Battle of Ft. Washington and the Retreat of Ft Lee
More continentals and Hessian sets from the Battles of Trenton.
General Mercer lying wounded under the Mercer Tree with his troops from the Battle of Princeton would be a nice set.
One of the earliest recorded bridges with sheathing and a roof was finished in the Philadelphia area in 1804. Other bridges are known to have been partially covered in 1810-11, but the practice was not widespread until the 1830s.
There were probably some kingpost bridges that had the side framing covered to protect the truss from the weather, but the lovey covered bridges of the Northeast probably postdate the War for Independance by 45-50 years.
A BIG PAT ON THE BACK TO EVERYONE AT FIRST GEAR!I for one am very pleased with the current balance between matt and glossy. Having started out collecting "traditional style" toy soldiers I wil continue to be moved by the glossy look.Hi There! As you know 1st Gear has worked hard to re-establish a great brand name and we feel we have made good progress. Remember that this is a new owner, new management, new R&D team and a new manufacturer. In short we have reworked everything from the top to the bottom to bring a great product mix from plastics to matt connoisseur to the market.
There was much disscussion on the future of traditional gloss products and the feed back was really mixed. Twenty two months ago we launched the Redcoats range and with the acceptance of that, the VC series and the Bluecoats range. The limited edition bands are also finished in the traditional style and there will be an exciting new band in this catalog for you to consider.
As mentioned the second half of 2007 catalog will be going to print soon and it will show a nice mix of additions to these ranges along with a new spin off series and before the year is out an additional gloss range.
Will German troops be coming out in the future? They really must be represented at some point to do justice to the conflicts represented now and in the future. Besides all of that, I am itching to sculpt some fusiliers and grenadiers... and battalion men and jagers...you get the idea. We just ask for patience! Ken
