That is one amazing job! The scene is set well and this is exactly what comes to mind when I think about Aztecs and conquistador.

you and me are probably jaded by Mel Gibson's "Apocalypto"...
as I think most people are...
the Aztecs actually lived in the Valley of Mexico...
which is now Mexico City...
located between mountains and volcanoes...
their terrain was a highland plateau surrounded by water...
5 lakes that are now gone...
the plateau was probably created by volcanic upswelling....
there really wasn't much jungle in their very close geography...
however...
they led extensive raids both south and west through jungle areas maybe similar to my version in the diorama...
so a jungle diorama can work somewhat...
I knew it wasn't exactly correct when I made it...
I have never been accused of being a "rivet counter"...^&grin
I like what I like...
but like most people...
we associate the terrain of the Aztecs with jungle...
again...
